The Fiercest Day of Battle
On the 60th day of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the Palestinian resistance fought back against the occupation army, causing heavy losses. The Israeli bombardment continued in different areas of the Gaza Strip, resulting in over 16,000 martyrs. At the same time, the Lebanese army reported its first casualty since the beginning of the Israeli aggression.
The Palestinian Resistance Strikes Back
The military wing of Hamas, called Al-Qassam Brigades, announced that they targeted 18 Israeli soldiers and destroyed 24 vehicles in the eastern Khan Yunis area. Israel admitted that 7 of its soldiers were killed on Tuesday, bringing the total number of army deaths to 406 since October 7. The Israeli forces faced their fiercest day of battle since the start of the ground operation in Gaza.
High Number of Casualties
The government media office in Gaza reported that the Israeli aggression has resulted in 16,248 martyrs and over 43,000 wounded since October 7. Among the martyrs, there were 7,112 children and 4,885 women. The Israeli raids on Tuesday focused on the southern Gaza Strip, causing many Palestinians to flee their homes and seek safety in the southern areas.
Arrests in the West Bank
The occupation forces arrested about 40 Palestinians on Tuesday, bringing the total number of detainees in the West Bank to 3,580 since October 7. Most of the arrests took place in the Bethlehem and Jenin governorates. The Israeli army also used live bullets during their storming of Jenin camp, resulting in 3 injuries.
First Lebanese Army Casualty
The Lebanese army announced that one soldier was killed and three others were injured in an Israeli bombing that targeted an army military center in the Al-Adisa border area. This is the first casualty among the Lebanese army since the intermittent Israeli bombing of the south of the country began on October 8. Lebanese Hezbollah also targeted positions of the Israeli occupation forces, causing casualties among their ranks.
Hamas Tunnels and Israeli Response
Israeli government spokesman Elon Levy described Hamas' hideouts as unique. According to an Israeli official, Hamas tunnels are larger than the London train network and can be considered underground cities. Israel has received American aid worth $320 million for anti-tunnel technologies, but they have not been successful in destroying these tunnels.
Netanyahu's Perspective
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that the war on Gaza requires paying a heavy price. He emphasized the need to deal a crushing blow to Hamas and called on the world to support Israel. However, he warned against any division within his team.
US President's Statement
US President Joe Biden demanded the immediate release of all Israeli hostages held by Hamas. He blamed Hamas for violating the agreement and ending the truce by refusing to release the remaining female detainees. Biden condemned the violence committed by Hamas fighters, especially against women and girls.
Detainees' Families Express Anger
Israeli Army Radio reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed the families of Israeli detainees in the Gaza Strip that it is unlikely that all the detainees will be returned. The families expressed anger and fear for the safety of their loved ones still in Gaza. The meeting between the families and the war council led by Netanyahu was intense and filled with accusations.
International Involvement
British Defense Minister Grant Shapps announced that the UK will conduct reconnaissance flights over the eastern Mediterranean to gather information about Israeli detainees in Gaza. Israel has also approached countries like Britain and Japan to form a special operations force to operate in the Red Sea, following recent attacks by the Houthi group on commercial ships and an American destroyer.
Spies Inside Israel: A Closer Look at the Gaza Conflict
Unveiling the Secrets
Spies played a role in the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas. According to the British Guardian newspaper, Hamas had been planning an attack for years, and they had help from spies inside Israel. These spies provided detailed maps and information that helped Hamas carry out their plans.
The Power of Inside Information
An Israeli intelligence source revealed that the maps used by Hamas fighters could only have been created with internal information. This means that someone from inside Israel, possibly a "Hamas spy," shared crucial details with the enemy. It's a reminder that even in times of conflict, trust and security are of utmost importance.
A Comprehensive Map
Among the documents found with Hamas fighters was a comprehensive map of an Israeli military base. This map allowed them to navigate and plan their attack more effectively. It's a chilling reminder of the lengths some groups will go to in order to achieve their goals.
Gulf Cooperation Council's Condemnation
Leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) recently gathered in Doha for a summit. During the summit, they strongly condemned Israel's aggression against the Gaza Strip. They demanded an immediate ceasefire and an end to Israeli military operations.
Humanitarian Aid and Relief
The GCC leaders emphasized the importance of providing access to humanitarian aid and basic needs for the people of Gaza. They called for the resumption of electricity and water services, as well as the entry of fuel, food, and medicine. They also urged international organizations to join in these efforts to support the people of Gaza.
Breaking the Siege
The GCC leaders also called for an end to the illegal Israeli siege on Gaza. They praised the efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States in reaching a humanitarian truce agreement. This agreement aimed to alleviate the dire conditions in Gaza and secure the release of prisoners and detainees from both sides. The leaders also emphasized the need for more humanitarian convoys and relief aid to enter Gaza.
