According to Hebrew media, the Israeli army is facing criticism for its actions in the war on the Gaza Strip. Analysts say that the army is killing people randomly, including children. This has sparked a debate in Israeli media about the goals of the war and the fate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Israeli Army's Actions Questioned
Gideon Levy from Haaretz newspaper acknowledged that Palestinian children are being killed in Gaza and questioned whether this should be happening. He stated that Israeli soldiers are killing people without any specific target, and the situation in Gaza is too horrific to be shown on television.
Opposing Views
However, some participants in the discussion disagreed with Levy's claims. They argued that Israel is facing a brutal attack and an existential threat from the Palestinian resistance. They pointed out that the resistance has killed 1,200 people and kidnapped hundreds in Gaza.
Concerns about the Conflict
Former Chief of Staff, General Dan Halutz, described the conflict in Gaza as a difficult one. He warned that if they succeed, there could be violence in the streets. He also called for caution due to the arming of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's brigades.
Controversy Surrounding Netanyahu
The Israeli media discussion also focused on the internal controversy regarding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Some argued that changing the prime minister should not overshadow the defeat of Hamas and the liberation of those detained by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.
Calls for Netanyahu's Arrest
Shosh Ryan, a former employee in the Israeli army and the Shin Bet security service, described Netanyahu as a dangerous man who harms the security of Israel. She called for his arrest and investigation according to the law.
Public's Growing Impatience
Meanwhile, Yarden Vatikai, the former head of the national media department, stated that the Israeli public has run out of patience. He predicted that in the coming weeks, more people will demand Netanyahu's dismissal.
