Israeli Aggression on Gaza
On the 97th day of the Israeli war on Gaza, something important happened in The Hague. The International Court of Justice started its first session to discuss a lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel for committing genocide.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that the Israeli occupation forces carried out 10 new massacres in the past 24 hours, resulting in the deaths of 112 people and injuring 194 others. The occupation forces continued bombing central and southern regions of Gaza, while the resistance fought back.
Toll of Victims
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced an updated toll of victims from the ongoing Israeli aggression. According to Ashraf Al-Qudra, the ministry's spokesman, there have been 23,469 deaths and over 59,600 injuries. Out of the injured, 6,200 urgently need to leave Gaza for medical treatment.
Tension on the Lebanon Front
Lebanese Hezbollah retaliated against Israeli attacks by bombing Kiryat Shmona with dozens of missiles. They targeted Israeli soldiers and caused deaths and injuries among their ranks. In response, rockets and shells were fired from Lebanon towards towns in the Upper Galilee, including Kiryat Shmona.
Israel on Trial
The International Court of Justice adjourned its first session after hearing South Africa's case against Israel for committing genocide in Gaza. South Africa called on Israel to immediately stop its military operations in the Gaza Strip, presenting evidence of these operations amounting to genocide.
Houthi's Warning to Washington
The leader of the Ansar Allah group (Houthis), Abdul Malik al-Houthi, warned that any American attack on their members in the Red Sea will not go unanswered. He stated that the group will continue to oppose Israeli crimes and target ships linked to Israel.
Blinken's Visit to Cairo
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken visited Egypt to discuss the repercussions of the Gaza war with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Blinken emphasized the US commitment to establishing a Palestinian state and rejected Israeli plans to displace Palestinians from Gaza.
West Bank Incursions
The Israeli occupation forces continued their incursions into the West Bank, storming various cities and towns, including Jenin, Beitunia, and Qalqilya. They also raided homes in the Dheisheh camp in Bethlehem.
Security Council Condemns the Houthis
The UN Security Council adopted a resolution condemning the Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea and demanding an immediate end to these attacks. The resolution emphasizes the need to protect maritime navigation.
On the 98th day of the Israeli war on Gaza, the Israeli occupation forces are still bombing the Strip and causing many deaths. In just 24 hours, Israel committed 13 massacres, killing over 151 people. There are violent clashes happening between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli forces in different areas of Gaza.
Yemen's Response to Attacks
The Ansar Allah Houthi group in Yemen has promised to respond to the American-British attacks that targeted their sites. While some European countries supported the attacks, Russia criticized them and called for a meeting of the Security Council. Arab countries are also concerned about these developments.
International Court of Justice
The International Court of Justice is currently hearing a case about Israel's alleged genocide in Gaza. The court session was adjourned after listening to the Israeli legal team. South Africa, the plaintiff, claims that Israel has not responded adequately to the evidence presented. The court will issue a ruling this month, but it may take years to decide on the genocide charges.
Israeli Prime Minister's Popularity
A recent opinion poll shows that only 29% of Israelis believe that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the best person to lead the government. This comes at a time when the Israeli army is facing losses in Gaza, with 15 soldiers injured in the past 24 hours. Since October 7, a total of 2,511 soldiers and officers have been casualties, with over 5,000 injured.
Increasing Death Toll
Violent clashes between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli forces continue in Gaza. Israeli warplanes have launched airstrikes on residential neighborhoods, and artillery shelling has targeted camps. The Ministry of Health reports that the death toll from the Israeli aggression has reached 23,708, with 60,050 injured.
Violence in the West Bank
In the West Bank, 3 Palestinians were killed in an exchange of fire with the Israeli army. There are reports of at least one settler being injured. The Israeli forces have increased security measures in settlements due to reports of armed infiltration.
Houthi Group's Threat
The Ansar Allah Houthi group in Yemen has declared that all American and British interests are now legitimate targets for their forces. This is in response to the airstrikes launched by the US and UK on Houthi targets. The Pentagon has stated that the strikes were meant to send a message to the Houthis. Tens of thousands of Yemenis have gathered to denounce the American-British strikes.
On the other hand, the internationally recognized Yemeni government holds the Houthi group responsible for the military confrontation and believes that the American-British operation is a response to the Houthis' attacks on international navigation in the Red Sea.
