Intense Bombardment and Casualties
After 94 days of aggression against Gaza, the Israeli army launched a heavy bombardment on the central and southern parts of the Gaza Strip. This resulted in the deaths of many people, following a series of massacres in different areas. The total number of casualties from the aggression has now exceeded 23,000.
Despite the war lasting for three months, the military wing of Hamas, called the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, managed to target Tel Aviv with a new batch of missiles. At the same time, fierce battles took place between the resistance and the Israeli forces in Khan Yunis, located in the south of the Gaza Strip. Israeli sources reported that 9 officers and soldiers were killed, and 19 soldiers were injured in clashes within the past 24 hours.
While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the war would continue, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken visited Tel Aviv to discuss moving into a new phase of limited military operations, according to Israeli media.
The Toughest Day for the Israeli Army
Israeli sources revealed that Monday was the most challenging day for the Israeli occupation army since the beginning of the war on Gaza. Nine officers and soldiers were killed, and others were injured in two separate attacks during battles in the Gaza Strip within the past 24 hours.
Additionally, Staff Bisha, a sergeant in the Givati Brigade, suffered a heart attack after soldiers under his command were killed in the Gaza Strip.
The Al-Qassam Brigades announced that they had thwarted an Israeli attempt to rescue a prisoner in the Bureij camp. They engaged in a clash with the Israeli special forces, resulting in casualties and some members being captured. The Brigades also targeted an Israeli special force in Khan Yunis, killing and injuring its members.
The Brigades further reported that they detonated an anti-personnel device in an Israeli force and engaged in a gunfight with the remaining members inside a school in Khan Yunis.
Massacres and Casualties
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip in October, the number of martyrs has reached 23,840, with 58,926 people injured, mostly women and children. The ministry also reported that the Israeli occupation forces committed 17 massacres in the past 24 hours, resulting in 249 deaths and 510 injuries. The health facilities in Gaza are being targeted, which poses a severe threat to the health and well-being of the displaced population.
Gaza Ministry of Health spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra highlighted the dire situation faced by the 1.9 million displaced people in Gaza, who are suffering from famine, drought, and epidemics. He called on the United Nations and its institutions to urgently intervene and prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.
Incursions into the West Bank
The Israeli occupation forces continued their raids into various areas and towns in the West Bank. The number of Palestinians detained since October has reached approximately 5,730, according to the Prisoners Affairs Commissions.
The occupation forces conducted raids, investigations, and widespread arrests in Bethlehem, Ramallah, Qalqilya, Nablus, Hebron, Jenin, and occupied Jerusalem. Witnesses reported that the occupation army also besieged a residential neighborhood in the Aqabat Jabr camp near Jericho.
In Azzun, east of Qalqilya, the occupation forces conducted search operations in Palestinian homes and bombed a warehouse owned by a Palestinian prisoner in Israeli prisons.
Palestinian platforms documented the arrest of Palestinians in several areas, including the Dheisheh Camp in Bethlehem, the Shuafat Camp, and neighborhoods in Silwan, Jerusalem, Qalqilya, Ramallah, and Nablus.
Lebanon Front
Hezbollah mourned the loss of Wissam Tawil, one of their field commanders and the official in the Radwan unit. Tawil is considered the most prominent military commander assassinated by Israel since the beginning of the confrontations between the two sides. The assassination occurred after the Al-Aqsa Flood operation launched by the Palestinian resistance on October 7th.
Hezbollah paid tribute to Tawil, calling him a martyr and a brave fighter on the path to Jerusalem. They shared photos of Tawil with Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard who was assassinated in 2020, and Imad Mughniyeh, a prominent military commander of Hezbollah who was assassinated in 2008.
