It is impossible to understand what is happening in Sudan without understanding the roots of the Western colonial conspiracy against both Africa and the Arab and Islamic world. Sudan, the Arab-African country, finds itself between the hammer of conspiracy against Africa and the anvil of conspiracy against the Arab and Islamic world. The issue can be understood more deeply if we also consider the overt and covert conspiracies against Islam itself as a religion.
In 1884, Germany invited various international powers to attend a conference in Berlin. The conference was held from November 15, 1884, to February 26, 1885, and was attended by 15 European countries, as well as the United States of America, with the aim of arranging suitable conditions for developing trade and civilization in certain areas of the African continent.
One of the outcomes of the conference was the declaration of protection over Somalia in 1884, which had been under Egyptian rule. This also included the annexation of Bechuanaland, South Africa, Nigeria, (the British) East Africa, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and the Gold Coast. Protection was also declared over Uganda in 1894, and British influence was extended over Sudan in the name of Egypt.
Among the outcomes of the Berlin Conference of 1884 was the declaration of protection over Somalia, which had been under Egyptian rule.
Sabel Crew, a professor of international law, states that the conference tried to regulate relations between colonial powers on specific legal bases. However, what happened was the establishment of a colonial scramble for resources and areas of influence in the African continent, which ultimately resulted in the major powers monopolizing trade in the areas under their influence.
War on Islam
One of the outcomes of the Berlin Conference was the recognition of Abyssinia as a local African power, due to its status as a Christian kingdom. This granted it the right to invade the territories of the Islamic emirates that were concentrated along the African coast at that time, known as Islamic-style emirates. Consequently, Abyssinia emerged as a major regional power, and its name was changed to Ethiopia under Emperor Menelik (1889–1913), who rose with the assistance of European nations.
In this context, European colonizers, after the Berlin Conference, separated East Africa from the Arabian Peninsula, West Africa from the Arab Maghreb, and South Sudan from North Sudan, thereby making Sudan a vital battleground in the war on Islam.
Continuing from the Berlin Conference, the “Campbell-Bannerman” was held in London in 1907 to legitimize European plunder of the world, particularly the Islamic world. The conference categorized the world into three classifications:
Sudan is one of the richest Arab and African countries, having discovered significant resources in recent years.
Resources for Plunder, Not for the People
Sudan occupies an important strategic location on the Red Sea, south of Egypt, and shares geographical borders with seven other African countries: Egypt, Libya, Chad, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Eritrea.
Sudan is considered one of the richest Arab and African countries, with significant resources discovered in recent years. Its oil reserves rival those of Saudi Arabia, and it contains important fields of natural gas and large quantities of highly pure uranium, in addition to substantial amounts of copper.
Avi Dichter, former Israeli Minister of Internal Security, summarized the Zionist strategic vision toward Sudan in a lecture given in 2008, stating that weakening Sudan and draining its energies and capabilities is a duty and a necessity to maximize the strength of “Israel” and enhance its resilience against enemies. This requires the use of iron and fire at times and diplomacy and covert warfare at others.
Zionist Official: Weakening Sudan and draining its energies and capabilities is essential to maximizing the strength of “Israel.”
He stated that with its resources and vast territory, Sudan could become a strong regional state and represent a strategic depth for Egypt. This was evident after the 1967 war, when it became a training and housing base for the Egyptian Air Force and Libyan forces. Sudan also sent supporting troops to Egypt during the War of Attrition in 1968. Therefore, according to Dichter:
Dichter concludes his lecture by stating: I want to end my discussion of the Sudanese axis in this lecture by emphasizing that our strategy, which has been implemented on the ground in South Sudan previously and in its West currently, has succeeded in altering the situation in Sudan toward escalation, deterioration, and division.
He added: It has now become impossible to speak about Sudan transforming into a major regional state and a supportive power for the Arab countries we refer to as the frontline states against Israel. Given its deteriorating conditions and the ongoing conflicts in the South, West, and even East, Sudan is unable to exert a deep influence on its Arab and African environment because it is embroiled in conflicts that will eventually lead to its division into multiple entities and states.
This is what that Zionist stated. When will we pay attention to what is being plotted and plan, not as they have planned to plunder the resources of people, but to confront their conspiracies and thwart them, preserving our nations and our resources?!
