Could the war on Gaza end soon?
Some military experts say war on Gaza might not be anytime soon. They have some pretty good reasons for thinking that way.
So, the Israeli army has been fighting against Hamas for over a month and a half now. But guess what? They haven't been able to achieve their goals of defeating Hamas and freeing Israeli prisoners. Some people are starting to question whether all this fighting was even worth it. They think it's just a waste of time and resources.
Here's another reason why the war keeps going on. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu actually wants to prolong it. Why? Well, he believes that defeating Hamas, no matter how long it takes, is in his best interest. He wants to show everyone that he's strong and can protect his country. Plus, by focusing on the war, people might forget about other problems going on.
Did you know that the Israeli army had a big failure back in October? Yep, it's true. And now they want to make up for it by completely defeating Hamas. They won't settle for anything less than total victory. That's why this war might continue for several more months.
According to military analyst Amir Oren, this war is no joke. It's the most complex and fiercest one yet. In the past, some wars were quick and intense, like lightning. But this time, it's different. Oren thinks that if Netanyahu doesn't get what he wants, the war could last for six months or even a whole year!
Here's another reason why the war is still going on. Turns out, Hamas is much stronger than the Israelis thought. The Israeli army is fighting in different parts of Gaza, but they haven't been able to weaken Hamas enough. Hamas still controls the southern part of Gaza, where its leaders are hiding. So, the war might continue until the Israeli army can reach them.
Is it worth it?
Now, some people are starting to question whether all this fighting is really worth it. They think the Israeli army should consider if they should keep on fighting. After all, all the effort they're putting in might not be worth the results they're getting. Plus, it puts the lives of soldiers at risk.
Therefore, the war on Gaza might not end anytime soon. Netanyahu and the Israeli army want to completely defeat Hamas, and that's not an easy task.
