Withdrawal and Return
In his speech, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, said that the only way to stop the war is for the Rapid Support Forces to withdraw from certain areas like Al-Jazira State and the central regions. They also need to return the things they stole and let people go back to their homes.
Why is this important?
Al-Burhan explained that the Rapid Support Forces are causing a lot of trouble. They are damaging the country's infrastructure, hurting and killing innocent people, stealing their belongings, and even forcing them out of their homes. This is not okay!
Support from Other Countries
Al-Burhan also mentioned that some other countries are supporting the Rapid Support Forces. But these countries are making false claims to justify their support. Even though these forces have committed terrible crimes, they are still getting help. That's not fair!
Ceasefire Agreement
Al-Burhan said that any ceasefire agreement must make sure that the things he mentioned earlier actually happen. If not, it's not worth it. The Sudanese people don't want to live among these criminals and those who support them.
Previous Negotiations
Before this, there were negotiations between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces. They reached an agreement called the "Jeddah Declaration." It included promises to protect important places like hospitals and not use them for military purposes.
Foreign Interference
Al-Burhan also talked about other countries interfering in Sudan's affairs. He asked those countries to stop supporting the Rapid Support Forces and leave Sudan alone. He warned that Sudan has the right to take action to protect itself.
Recent Meetings
Hemedti, the leader of the Rapid Support Forces, has been meeting with presidents and prime ministers of other countries. They are discussing ways to stop the war through negotiations. It's good that they are trying to find a peaceful solution.
Upcoming Meeting
Al-Burhan is planning to meet with Hemedti soon to talk about a ceasefire in Sudan. This meeting was postponed before, but now they are trying to make it happen. Let's hope they can find a way to end the war!
The Impact of the War
Since April 15, there has been a war in Sudan between the army and the Rapid Support Forces. It has caused the death of more than 12,000 people and forced over 6 million others to leave their homes. This is a huge tragedy!
