A Tragic Story
Rovan Nasr, a young girl from the Gaza Strip, experienced a terrible tragedy when her entire family was killed in an Israeli bombing. They were staying in a house in Khan Yunis, in the southern part of the Strip, when the attack happened. Miraculously, Rovan was the only one who survived.
A Terrifying Awakening
Rovan shared her harrowing experience with Al Jazeera's camera crew. She explained that she had gone to sleep peacefully, but suddenly woke up to find herself trapped under the rubble of her destroyed home. She felt helpless, as if her hands and legs were tied, and began screaming for help. Eventually, she heard voices asking who she was.
A Ray of Hope
Thankfully, some brave citizens managed to rescue Rovan from the wreckage of her house. The bombing had occurred at one o'clock, and she was lucky to be found alive.
A Heartbreaking Loss
Rovan couldn't bear the thought of her father, mother, and siblings being gone. She couldn't sleep that night, consumed by thoughts of her family. In the morning, she pleaded with her uncle to take her to the European Hospital in Khan Yunis so she could see her loved ones. However, she received the devastating news that her mother, father, and brothers - Uday, Muhammad, and Malik - had all been killed in the Israeli bombing.
Strength in the Face of Tragedy
Despite her immense grief, Rovan showed incredible strength and resilience. She uttered the words, "To God we belong and to Him we shall return," expressing her faith and acceptance of the situation. Rovan admitted that her feelings were beyond words, and she cried a lot, wishing that no one else would have to endure the pain she had experienced.
