Healthcare Crisis in Gaza
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has reported that the Israeli occupation has deliberately targeted hospitals and ambulances, causing a severe healthcare crisis. The hospitals in Gaza are unable to provide proper medical care to the sick and wounded due to the destruction and lack of essential medical supplies.
Urgent Call for Support
The Ministry of Health issued a distress call to all medical teams, urging them to join the hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip. They also appealed for more support, especially in terms of medicines and medical supplies, to ensure that hospitals can function effectively despite the ongoing aggression.
Impact on Healthcare Infrastructure
The Israeli occupation has intentionally attacked the healthcare infrastructure in Gaza. They have destroyed more than 60 ambulances and targeted 160 health institutions. As a result, 28 hospitals and 63 primary care centers are currently out of service.
Dire Medical Situation
The medical sector in Gaza, particularly in the north, is facing immense challenges. The Israeli threats continue, and the international institutions have not provided adequate support to protect and meet the healthcare needs of the population. This has led to a continuous collapse of the health system.
Insufficient Aid
Despite the armistice agreement, the amount of medical aid that entered Gaza was less than expected. Unfortunately, it was not directed towards the hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, further exacerbating the healthcare crisis.
Call for Support and Treatment
The Ministry of Health urgently appeals for support in the form of medicines, medical supplies, and fuel. They also request the deployment of field hospitals with large capacities to handle the increasing number of wounded and sick individuals. Additionally, they emphasize the need to transfer many of the critically injured patients outside of Gaza for proper treatment.
