The Devastating Impact of the Israeli War on Gaza
Since the start of the war, more than 14,000 people have lost their lives in Gaza. This includes over 5,800 children and 3,920 women. Additionally, more than 33,000 people have been injured, with the majority being children and women.
Missing and Unreachable
There are over 6,800 people who are missing, either trapped under rubble or lying in the streets. Sadly, the Israeli army is preventing rescue efforts, making it difficult to reach them. Among the missing are more than 4,500 children and women.
Loss of Essential Workers
Tragically, 205 doctors, nurses, and paramedics have lost their lives while trying to save others. Additionally, 22 civil defense crews and 62 journalists have also been martyred.
Destroyed Infrastructure
The war has caused significant damage to Gaza's infrastructure. Over 100 government buildings and 266 schools have been destroyed, including 66 schools that are now out of service.
Mass Displacement
Since the war began, nearly 1.7 million people have been displaced in Gaza. Currently, there are 930,000 internally displaced people seeking shelter in overcrowded buildings managed by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). Unfortunately, there is no more room for new arrivals.
Health Crisis
The displacement of such a large number of people has led to the spread of diseases, including acute respiratory diseases and diarrhea. In the past two weeks alone, cases of these illnesses have increased by 40%.
The Lasting Impact
For 46 days, the Israeli occupation army has been waging an air and ground war on Gaza. This has resulted in the destruction of entire neighborhoods, the displacement of tens of thousands of people, and the direct targeting of civilian facilities and hospitals.
