The Devastating Toll of Israeli Raids on Gaza
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza recently shared some really sad news. They announced that since October 7, there have been Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip that have caused the loss of over 10,000 Palestinian lives. Can you believe that? And what's even more heartbreaking is that two-thirds of those who lost their lives were children and women. It's really hard to imagine the pain and suffering that so many families are going through right now.
Targeting Medical Personnel and Facilities
The Ministry spokesman, Ashraf Al-Qudra, also shared some shocking information about the attacks on medical personnel and facilities. He said that 192 medical personnel have been killed and 40 ambulances have been destroyed. Can you imagine how difficult it must be for the injured to get the help they need when ambulances are out of service? It's really scary and unfair.
Destroying More than 120 Health Institutions
Not only that, but the Israeli occupation has also targeted more than 120 health institutions. This means that 18 hospitals and 40 primary care centers are no longer able to help people because they were destroyed or ran out of fuel. It's really sad to think about all the people who need medical attention but can't get it because their hospitals are gone.
War on Hospitals
It's really shocking to hear that hospitals themselves have become targets. In just the past few hours, 7 hospitals in Gaza and the north have been attacked, resulting in the deaths of 13 people and injuring 140 others. Can you imagine being in a hospital, a place where you're supposed to be safe, and suddenly it becomes a target? It's really scary and unfair.
There's even a hospital called Al-Rantisi Specialized Hospital for Children that received a threat to be evacuated before it gets bombed.
Desperate Need for Help
It's clear that the Israeli occupation is deliberately targeting the basic necessities of life in Gaza, especially in hospitals. Medical teams are struggling to find even a piece of bread or a drink of water. Can you imagine being in a hospital and not having enough food or water? It's really hard to think about.
Bodies in the Streets
There are so many victims of these attacks that some people have been forced to flee from the northern to the southern part of Gaza. There are still many bodies of those who lost their lives lying on the ground, and ambulances haven't been able to recover them yet. It's really sad and devastating.
Call for Help
The Palestinian official, Ashraf Al-Qudra, is calling for a safe humanitarian corridor to be established. This would allow medical supplies, aid, and fuel to enter Gaza. It would also ensure that the wounded can be taken out of Gaza for treatment and that specialized medical teams can come in to help. It's really important that we all come together to support these efforts and help those in need.
A Shocking Percentage
The government media office in Gaza shared some really alarming statistics. They said that about 22% of the total population of the Gaza Strip has been directly affected by the Israeli aggression. This means that either they have lost their lives or have been injured. Can you believe that? It's really devastating to think about.
