There is no doubt that "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation has caused a significant earthquake with aftershocks that are still unfolding across all related paths, including the outcomes of the Zionist project. We can broadly discern the impact of the ongoing battle on this "project" from the frantic reaction of the entity’s leaders and their supporters, who have not hesitated to commit massacre after massacre, eradicate all forms of life in the Gaza Strip, and extend their aggression's fragments to regional countries supporting the resistance. The entity no longer cares if it is accused in international courts of committing genocide, nor does it care that unprecedented demonstrations are occurring against it in the capitals of its historically supportive countries!
From this frantic reaction, marked by unbridled aggression, unrestrained killing, and unlimited extermination, we can see the impact “Al-Aqsa Flood” has had on this usurping entity, even though we are still in the stages of formation and interaction.
In this article, we will observe some of the outcomes of the Zionist project in light of “Al-Aqsa Flood” and its effects on three levels: the internal level of the project itself, its relations with regional countries, and its relations with Western countries.
First: Internally… The Time for Postponed Questions Has Arrived
The Zionist entity was born internally troubled, as it is an entity lacking social cohesion and grand visions that unite its various, scattered, and self-divided factions—be they Ashkenazi or Sephardic Jews, secular or religious, military or civilian. However, the momentum of the project and its ability to achieve significant successes through expansion and geographical spread at times after defeating surrounding countries and economic growth at others following the start of normalization, allowed these crises that were born with the entity to be postponed time and again, remaining within manageable limits.
“Al-Aqsa Flood” Exposed Internal Fragility and the Myth of the "Promised Land," Leading to Reverse Migration
But “Al-Aqsa Flood” came to make these crises immediate questions rather than postponed ones. For example, avoiding the issue of conscripting the "Haredim" (ultra-Orthodox Jews) is no longer possible, and continuing to grant them privileges without the obligation of military service has become untenable, as the new reality imposed by the battle has created a human resources deficit in the army that must be addressed.
After Netanyahu succeeded (on June 11) in passing a law in the Knesset favoring the Haredim who refuse conscription, the Supreme Court's decision (on June 25) to impose their conscription overturned this law and imposed a new reality that is still evolving! This is one of the most significant internal challenges facing the Zionist project due to “Al-Aqsa Flood”.
The battle also revealed internal fragility and exposed the falsehood of the "Promised Land" narrative. The reverse migration (a report by the "Anadolu" agency on December 17, 2023, estimated their number at one million migrants leaving the entity) highlighted the falsehood and collapse of these claims! What kind of "Promised Land" is this that resembles a hotel that its guests can leave as soon as any service is disrupted?
Second: Regionally… The Slowing and Redirection of the "Normalization Train"
“Al-Aqsa Flood” battle erupted as the Zionist entity was preparing for new regional arrangements, signing peace agreements with key countries, strengthening its relationships, and imposing its control more than before, as under-the-table relations became publicly announced and justified.
But the battle forced the entity to reveal its true brutal face, which it had been trying to hide under a soft touch and rhetoric promising prosperity for the region. The cover was lifted, revealing a murderous, aggressive face that respects neither sanctity nor ethics, and is not deterred by laws or pleas! This has placed future partners in a difficult position and caused the normalization train to slow, attempting to navigate around what happened by announcing readiness to establish relations with the entity on the condition that the aggression stops and a Palestinian state is established.
The Normalization Train Tries to Navigate Establishing Relations with the Entity on the Condition of Stopping the Aggression and Establishing a Palestinian State
Despite these ongoing attempts, which have been slightly delayed, Hamas announced, through leader Osama Hamdan, that it rejects exchanging Palestinian rights for normalization with "Israel" ("Al Jazeera," February 7, 2024).
But even if the normalization train continues on its track, the Arab peoples have become more aware of the true nature of this Zionist project after “Al-Aqsa Flood” and more cognizant of its inherent aggressiveness. Therefore, the parties involved in normalization will need to exert double the effort to cover up this stark reality.
Third: In the West… The Unveiling of Roles and Questioning of Support
It is no secret that the Zionist project was initially a solution to the "Jewish question" in the West, which had been a thorn in the side of Western societies and a chronic headache. This project was thus meant to serve a functional role aligned with Western interests and as a remedy for the issue that troubled them internally. But the paradox is that this "Jewish question," which had disappeared for decades after the establishment of the usurping entity, has resurfaced due to “Al-Aqsa Flood”.
The unlimited and costly Western support has renewed the old questions in Western societies about the "Jewish question" and the value, as well as the ethics, of this support, particularly in relation to the principles of human rights and the rejection of killing and extermination that the West supposedly upholds!
For example, the U.S. House of Representatives approved, in early November 2023, President Joe Biden's administration's request to allocate $14.3 billion in aid to "Israel" ("Al Jazeera," November 14, 2023).
Western Populations Are Awakening to Their Budgets Being Drained for "Israel" and Western Weapons Being Used for Killing
Western populations are awakening to the reality that their budgets are being drained for "Israel," that Western weapons are being used for killing and destruction, and that human rights have lost their way to the Palestinian people. These long-suppressed questions have resurfaced, and the student movement, even in elite universities, has shown that some life remains in the Western human conscience. Massive protests, particularly in capitals with historical support for the entity, have embarrassed Western governments, with Gaza becoming a presence in European and American elections. Many universities have succeeded in halting joint programs with their counterparts within the entity or with its Ministry of Defense, and the repression used to stop student protests has prompted serious questions about Western support for the entity.
As an indicator of the effectiveness of this Western popular movement, Netanyahu was forced, more than once— including in his speech to Congress on July 24th—to attack American demonstrations supporting Palestinian rights; an attack that reflects the entity's anxiety over losing traditional spheres of influence. However, it lacks tact and exposes the self-interested relationships linking the entity to the governments of these countries.
It is true that the Western demonstrations, despite their ongoing and widespread nature, have not succeeded in exerting sufficient pressure to stop the aggression. However, the questions they have raised about the "Jewish question," the exposure of unhealthy relationships between their governments and the entity, and the testing of Western principles on human rights and the rejection of violence represent significant gains that are likely to increase.
“Al-Aqsa Flood” came at a critical moment for the Zionist entity, and it will have significant and multi-level repercussions, placing the Zionist project in front of real challenges, even if it tries to hide them with its brute force, excessive violence, and evasive maneuvers.
