Al-Qassam Brigades Strike Back
On the 80th day of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that they had killed some Israeli soldiers and destroyed 13 vehicles. The Israeli army also admitted to suffering losses. While the Israeli army continued to target civilians, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the war is not ending soon and that the fighting will intensify in the coming days.
Al-Qassam Brigades Target Israeli Soldiers
The Al-Qassam Brigades and Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, carried out operations against the Israeli occupation forces in several areas in the Gaza Strip. The Al-Qassam Brigades targeted an Israeli force of 40 soldiers in Jabalia, causing deaths and injuries among them. They also destroyed some occupation vehicles and disabled others.
Israeli Soroka Hospital Receives Wounded Soldiers
Israeli Soroka Hospital announced that it received 18 soldiers wounded in the battles in the Gaza Strip. One of them was in serious condition. Currently, there are 49 injured soldiers receiving treatment in various departments, with 16 of them in serious condition.
Dismissal of Golani Brigade Leader
The commander of the 51st Battalion in the Golani Brigade was dismissed for endangering a group of soldiers in the Shujaiya neighborhood in the Gaza Strip. This decision came after the occupation army leadership decided to withdraw soldiers from the brigade, which is considered the elite brigade in the Israeli army. The brigade was withdrawn to give its members a break and allow them to visit their families.
Netanyahu's Determination to Continue the War
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu renewed his refusal to stop the war on the Gaza Strip. He denied rumors that his government might call for a ceasefire. During a press conference, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid criticized Netanyahu's position, but Netanyahu remained firm, stating that the war is far from over.
Israel's Budget Deficit Triples
The Israeli Ministry of Finance estimated that the war in Gaza will cost at least 50 billion shekels ($14 billion) in 2024 and will cause the budget deficit to triple. The ministry expects the fighting to continue until next February and plans to allocate 30 billion shekels for security and 20 billion shekels for civilian and other expenses.
