Intensified Attacks and Displacement
On the 59th day of the Israeli war on Gaza, the Israeli military increased their airstrikes on Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip. Ground forces also began an incursion into the southern region, despite facing strong resistance in the north.
UN: No Safe Place in Gaza
Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, stated that there is no safe place in Gaza for people to flee to. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees confirmed that around 1.9 million people in Gaza have been displaced.
Occupation Massacres
In the recent raids, hundreds of Palestinians were killed and injured. The Israeli airstrikes targeted areas in Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and near Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. Residential neighborhoods and homes in Deir al-Balah, Bureij, and Nuseirat camps in the central Gaza Strip were also hit.
15,899 Palestinians Killed 42,000 Injured
The bombing intensified in Khan Yunis and its surroundings, resulting in a high number of casualties. The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that since the start of the Israeli war, 15,899 Palestinians have been killed and 42,000 injured. The majority of the victims are women and children.
20 Hospitals and More Than 56 Health Institutions
The Israeli bombing has also severely damaged healthcare facilities, with 20 hospitals and more than 56 health institutions completely destroyed.
Battle Developments
The Palestinian resistance is engaged in fierce clashes with the Israeli occupation forces in Khan Yunis. Satellite images revealed the Israeli incursion into the south of the Gaza Strip, with occupation vehicles concentrated in specific areas.
Yoav Galant
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant announced that the army had begun operations in the south of the Strip while continuing operations in the north. He also stated that the war is expected to continue for at least another two months.
Al-Qassam Brigades
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, reported destroying 28 military vehicles in the last 24 hours. The resistance also launched missiles at Tel Aviv and Sderot and targeted the Reim base, the headquarters of the Israeli army's Gaza Division.
Humanitarian Situation
Communication and internet services were cut off from the Gaza Strip for the fourth time. UNRWA announced that approximately 1.9 million people, more than 80% of the population, have been displaced since the start of the war. The agency also reported the deaths of 111 of its employees in Gaza.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Israel to avoid actions that worsen the already catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza and spare civilians from further suffering. He emphasized that there is no safe place in Gaza for those asked to evacuate their areas.
Developments in the West Bank
The Israeli occupation forces continued their operations in various parts of the West Bank, resulting in the deaths of at least 5 Palestinians and the injury of more than 30 others. The total number of martyrs killed by occupation bullets in the West Bank has reached 259 since October 7th.
Lebanese Front
There has been escalated shelling on both sides of the border between Israel and Lebanon. The Israeli army reported that three of its soldiers were wounded due to shelling from southern Lebanon. In response, Lebanese Hezbollah launched attacks on military sites and soldier gatherings.
Hamas announced the establishment of "Vanguards of the Al-Aqsa Flood" from Lebanon to strengthen the resistance against the occupation.
Political Developments
The US State Department stated that it is too early to assess Israel's response to American advice on protecting civilians. They claimed to have not seen evidence of deliberate targeting of civilians by the Israeli army. The Israeli government has improved its evacuation requests in the southern Gaza Strip.
Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid called for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's resignation, stating that the government's failures cannot continue. Former head of the Israeli Internal Security Agency, Yuval Diskin, also urged Netanyahu to step down.
