There were some big demonstrations in a bunch of Arab cities to show support for Gaza and to speak out against the Israeli attacks. This happened on the first day of a truce between Hamas (a group in Gaza) and Israel.
Jordan
In Jordan's capital, Amman, and other places, thousands of people came together to show their support for Gaza. In the center of Amman, more than 4,000 people joined a demonstration after Friday prayers.
The day before these demonstrations, a spokesperson for Hamas called on people in Jordan to take action and resist the Israeli aggression. So, these demonstrations were a response to that call.
During the demonstrations, people waved Jordanian and Palestinian flags. They also held up signs that said things like "With resistance we win," "Resistance is our choice," and "This aggression will be broken, and our will will not be broken." They even had pictures of some important leaders, like US President Joe Biden, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and European Union Foreign Minister Josep Borrell, calling them "war criminals." They also had a picture showing the flags of the United States, Israel, and the European Union with the words "Alliance of Terrorism."
People at the demonstrations also chanted slogans in support of the spokesperson for Hamas, and they carried a picture of him wearing a red kuffiyeh (a traditional Arab headdress) with the words "Pride of the Nation" underneath. Similar demonstrations happened in other cities in Jordan too.
Morocco
In Morocco, thousands of people came together for vigils in different cities after Friday prayers. These vigils were organized by a group called the Moroccan Authority for Supporting the Nation's Issues. The people at the vigils wanted to show their support for Palestine and Gaza.
During the vigils, people criticized the West for supporting Israel and not speaking out against the attacks on civilians in Gaza. They also demanded an end to normalization (which means having normal relations) with Israel and the closure of the Israeli liaison office in Rabat (the capital of Morocco). They raised the Palestinian flag and had banners supporting the Palestinian cause.
Some of the cities where these vigils happened were Tangier, Oujda, Tetouan, Agadir, El Jadida, and Safi.
Tunisia
In Tunisia's capital, hundreds of people joined a march to support the Palestinian people and to demand that the Israeli war on Gaza stops for good.
About 300 demonstrators started at Al-Fath Mosque and walked to the Municipal Theater in the center of the capital. They carried a coffin that symbolized what was happening in Gaza and chanted slogans like "Say God, say God, we will not abandon Gaza," "Oh Nation of Islam, there is no surrender with Gaza," and "The nation wants to move the armies." They really wanted the Israeli aggression to stop.
Qatar
In Qatar's capital, Doha, there was also a protest to support the Palestinians and speak out against the Israeli war.
After Friday prayers, hundreds of people gathered at the Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque. They chanted slogans in support of the Palestinian people and against the ongoing Israeli attacks. They also waved Palestinian flags.
West Bank
In Ramallah, which is in the West Bank, there was a march to show support for the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. People chanted slogans praising the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, which is the military wing of Hamas, for fighting against the Israeli occupation forces.
That's all for now! These demonstrations were a way for people in different Arab cities to come together and show their support for Gaza and speak out against the Israeli attacks. It's important for people to stand up for what they believe in!
