Science & Technology
Anonymous attackers targeted one of Radware's clients, Signature-IT, and stole a lot of information from them. The attackers call themselves "Al-Aqsa Flood Cyber." They are a new group that started on November 18. Their name is inspired by another operation called Al-Aqsa Flood, which is connected to a group called Hamas. This new group is politically motivated, and they want to cause trouble.
Who Got Affected?
These attackers released sensitive information about people associated with Signature-IT's clients. Some of the affected organizations include Max Security, the Israel Innovation Authority, the National Archives of the Israeli government, Shefa Online, and even Radware itself.
The Ceasefire
The attackers said they would stop releasing information for now, but we don't know how much they have collected or if they will start again if the war resumes. So far, they have leaked emails, phone numbers, names, and business interactions, but not credit card or banking information.
The Cyber War
Israel is facing a lot of cyber-attacks lately. While they are dealing with a war on the ground, their digital infrastructure is also under attack. Experts say that cyber war is becoming more and more common.
The Increasing Attacks
According to Gil Messing, an expert in information security, there have been more than 120 groups actively attacking Israel. These attacks have increased by 22% since the war started. They include ransomware attacks, attacks on mobile devices, and even attacks on security cameras and other smart devices.
Staying Safe
Companies like Check Point are working hard to minimize the impact of these attacks. But it's important for everyone to stay vigilant. People need to be aware that cyber attacks can happen and take steps to protect themselves.
The Future Threat
Even if there's a ceasefire, the leaked information can still be used in harmful ways. It could be sold to other people who might use it for bad things. So, it's crucial for Israeli citizens, businesses, and government offices to stay alert.
The Electronic War
Ronen Ahdot, an expert in cybersecurity, says that we are in the middle of a real electronic war. The leaks we see every day are just one example of what's happening. It's a serious issue that we all need to be aware of.
