A Call for Ceasefire and Humanitarian Aid

More than 400 American political officials recently sent a letter to President Joe Biden protesting his administration's policy regarding Israel and their support for attacks on the Gaza Strip.

In the letter, these officials asked for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza. They also called for the release of Israeli and Palestinian "hostages" and the delivery of important things like water, fuel, electricity, and other basic services to the people living in the Strip. They want to make sure everyone is safe and has what they need.

A Majority of Americans Support a Ceasefire

Guess what? According to opinion polls, most Americans actually support a ceasefire in Gaza. They don't want their country's army to get involved in another costly and useless war in the Middle East. It's important to listen to what the people want!

Who Signed the Letter?

The New York Times talked to two officials who helped write the letter. They said that the majority of the people who signed it are politicians with different beliefs. These politicians work in 40 different government institutions, and they played a big role in electing President Biden. So, they have some influence!
