Global Protests for Gaza
Yesterday, people in the United States, Europe, Africa, and the Arab and Islamic worlds came together in massive demonstrations. They demanded an end to the Israeli massacres in Gaza and condemned the Western countries' positions on the Palestinian situation.
The pro-Palestine coalition in Britain called for marches in over 120 cities across 45 countries worldwide to show support for Gaza.
International Court of Justice
At the same time, the International Court of Justice is reviewing a lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel. The lawsuit accuses Israel of committing genocide crimes against Palestinians in Gaza. The court is being asked to demand an immediate end to the 100-day-long war that Israel has been waging on Gaza.
Devastating War on Gaza
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has been carrying out a devastating war on Gaza. As of Friday, the war has resulted in 23,708 deaths and 60,050 injuries, with most of the victims being children and women. The war has also caused massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, according to the Gaza Strip authorities and the United Nations.
United States
In Washington, DC, thousands of people demonstrated, demanding an immediate end to the 100-day-long war on Gaza. They carried banners calling for an end to the "genocide" campaign and urged US President Joe Biden to stop supplying weapons to Israel.
In New York City, thousands of people also gathered to denounce the American-British attack on Yemen and the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
Britain
In London, a major demonstration took place to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The protesters called for an end to the Israeli war, the entry of urgent aid into Gaza, and holding Israel accountable for its crimes. British police estimated that around 100,000 people participated in the demonstration.
The demonstrators in Britain and the United States also demanded an end to the bombing in Yemen and expressed support for Israel.
Germany
In Munich, Germany, a massive demonstration was held in solidarity with Gaza and to demand an end to the Israeli war.
In Berlin, demonstrators occupied Berlin Central Station to protest against the war on Gaza. The police arrested several demonstrators after using force against them.
Dozens of people also demonstrated in the German city of Kiel, demanding an end to the war and the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Switzerland
In the Swiss city of Basel, a demonstration took place in support of Palestine and to demand an end to the war on Gaza. Approximately 2,500 people participated in the demonstration, according to police estimates.
Sweden
In Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, a massive demonstration was organized in support of Gaza and to demand an end to the Israeli war.
A similar demonstration took place in the city of Uppsala, rejecting the Israeli aggression and the ongoing massacres against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Luxembourg
In Luxembourg, thousands of people demonstrated in front of the US embassy to denounce the US administration's continued support for the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
Denmark
In Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, thousands of people demonstrated in support of Gaza and to demand an end to the Israeli war.
Holland
In The Hague, Netherlands, hundreds of people continued to demonstrate in front of the International Court of Justice. They demanded that Israel be held accountable for its crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
France
In Paris, people organized a massive rally on World Solidarity Day to demand a ceasefire in Gaza and show solidarity with Palestine.
Italy
In the Italian city of Florence, a massive demonstration was held in support of Gaza and Palestine. The demonstrators denounced the occupation's aggression against the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing for 100 days.
Australia
In Sydney, Australia, a march was launched in support of Palestine and to denounce the occupation's crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip. The march was part of the "International Day for Gaza" activities.
Türkiye
In the city of Konya, Turkey, thousands of people demonstrated in support of Palestine and Gaza. They denounced the continuation of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
South Korea
In Seoul, the capital of South Korea, demonstrations took place to demand an end to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. The demonstrators expressed their solidarity with Gaza and denounced the Israeli aggression and crimes against civilians.
Japan
In several Japanese cities, mass demonstrations were organized to demand an end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. The demonstrators called for the entry of humanitarian aid and the lifting of the siege on Gaza.
Indonesia
In 18 Indonesian cities, protests and demonstrations were held in solidarity with the people of Gaza. The protesters gathered in front of the US Embassy in Jakarta and called on the American government to stop supporting the Israeli war on Gaza. In Bandung, the capital of West Java, another demonstration took place, denouncing the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces.
South Africa
In various cities in South Africa, massive demonstrations were held to demand an end to the genocidal war carried out by the Israeli occupation army against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Morocco
In Morocco, the Moroccan Authority for Supporting the Nation's Issues organized 113 demonstrations in 56 cities. The demonstrators showed support for Gaza and raised their voices against the ongoing Israeli war. They also called for an end to the displacement of Palestinians and denounced the international silence on the situation.
Jordan
In the Jordanian capital, Amman, dozens of activists protested near the US Embassy. They condemned Washington's biased position towards Israel in its war on Gaza. The protesters also condemned the US-British strikes on Yemen and called on Arab countries to take a firm stance against the war on Gaza and the bombing of Yemen.
Tunisia
In Tunisia, people demonstrated in front of the US Embassy to show support for the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. They called for lifting the siege, stopping the Israeli aggression, and enacting a law criminalizing all forms of normalization with Israel. The protesters also denounced Western support for Israel in its war on Gaza.
Iraq
In Baghdad, Iraq, people gathered in Tahrir Square to denounce what they described as the brutal American aggression against Yemen. The demonstrators expressed their support for the Ansar Allah Houthi forces in Yemen and the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance. They also demanded the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq.
