It was expected that the right-wing American President Donald Trump, after his victory, would appoint ministers and officials from the extreme evangelical trend that supports "Israel," but the appointments were glaringly ominous signals for the future of the world. He went too far in appointing those loyal to "Israel" and the Christian Zionist trend, to the point that the occupation newspapers wondered: Is this Trump's government and choices, or Netanyahu's?!
The other surprise was the selection of figures extremely hostile to Islam and Muslims, glorifying the Crusades, led by the American Defense Minister who has several tattoos about the Crusades and his famous cross on his body, which was put on him while he was visiting "Israel"!
Therefore, it can be said: The features of the new President Trump's administration that are beginning to take shape give the impression that Trump's choices for his administration are in favor of "Israel," because the majority of ministers are from the Christian Zionist trend and they prioritize loyalty to the occupation over the interests of their country and harbor hostility towards Islam. This indicates the future direction of American politics and its harmful impact on Arab issues.
The Minister of Crusades
Trump chose Peter Higisth as Defense Minister, who has a tattoo for the Crusades on his body. He said: It was put on him in Jerusalem when he was visiting in solidarity with the Zionists against Palestinian resistance. The minister added that he had a tattoo on his hands and chest in Bethlehem, drawing the "Jerusalem Cross" of the Crusades, and on his arm muscle, he drew the slogan "Deus Vult", meaning "God wills it" or "This is the will of God", which was the famous cry of the Crusaders as they attacked Muslims and destroyed their cities.
Trump's nominee for the position of American Defense Minister is known for saying: "If you open the Bible, you will find that the Lord says to Abraham, the land of Israel is yours, and this is our understanding of the issue of Israel and Palestine", meaning that there is nothing called the Palestinian state, all of it is the land of "Israel"!
He also appeared saying: "Zionism and America are the front lines of Western civilization and freedom," he rejects the idea of a two-state solution to the war in Gaza, and he is a strong supporter of "Israeli" expansion in the West Bank.
Higisth, a presenter on the right-wing American extremist channel "Fox News," previously worked in the National Guard and participated in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He does not encourage women's involvement in the army and calls for amnesty for soldiers accused of committing war crimes. He is a supporter of "MAGA" or Trump's slogan "Let's make America great again" or "America first", pushing for the transformation of the American military force into a formidable force.
The newspaper "Haaretz" considered Trump's victory a gain for Netanyahu, and published a cartoon with Trump's picture above which was written a famous religious-political sentence: "Prepare for the coming of the Messiah". This sends a clear message, as Netanyahu convinces the audience that Trump is the one who will protect the state of faith and doctrine, and this will translate politically on the ground with a lot of confiscation, bloodshed, and carnage from the Palestinian side.
The Christian Zionist Foreign Minister
The positions of the American Jew Blinken as Secretary of State of America angered the Americans themselves who protested months in front of his house and accused him of war crimes because he spoke the language of the "Israelis", and offered Gaza resistance to leave their land in exchange for stopping aggression and exterminating Gaza.
But appointing Senator from Florida Marco Rubio as Secretary of State was worse than Blinken, as he is an extreme evangelical who supports Christian Zionism. He strongly criticized Biden for not fully supporting "Israel", and attacked Biden's objection to the Zionist attack on Rafah to pursue Hamas and compared it to preventing the pursuit of Hitler and his assistants in Germany!
Trump's new Secretary of State also supports the expulsion of university students from America who protested against "Israel", and pursues all supporters of the boycott campaign against "Israel".
Trump or Netanyahu Government?!
The aggressive appointment of Zionist ministers by Trump led Western newspapers and analysts to question: Is this a Netanyahu government or Trump's? The positions of the incoming officials at the White House align with the most extremist Zionist leadership in the "Israeli" government. Trump appointed Mike Huckabee, a Baptist Christian minister and former governor of Arkansas, as the US ambassador to "Israel". He is known for saying: "There is no such thing as Palestinians", "There is no West Bank in my dictionary, only Judea and Samaria, also, there are no settlements in my dictionary, only cities and communities, and there is no occupation in my dictionary, only pure ownership for Israel"!
The incoming American ambassador to Israel, Huckabee, said: The possibility of the Donald Trump administration agreeing to the Benjamin Netanyahu government to annex the West Bank to "Israeli" sovereignty is being considered, in response to a question from the Israeli army radio about the possibility of annexing the West Bank.
The plan to annex the West Bank has resurfaced, after Trump's victory in the American presidency, and this is reflected through statements from "Israeli" officials about the necessity of annexing the West Bank to "Israeli" sovereignty, the most prominent of which came from the Finance Minister of "Israel" Moshe Kahlon, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Since the new president Trump is a broker and contractor, he appointed a real estate investor and one of his campaign donors as his special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, who founded the Witkoff Group in 1977.
Trump also appointed Ratcliffe as the director of the American intelligence (CIA), who is a close ally of his and served as the director of national intelligence at the end of the first president's term.
Ratcliffe criticized the Biden administration's threat to ban arms exports to "Israel" if the humanitarian situation for civilians in Gaza does not improve.
Vice President Mike Waltz was chosen to be the White House National Security Advisor, a highly influential position in the American administration, appointed directly by the president and does not require approval from the Senate. His role includes coordinating between the highest national security agencies in the United States, providing reports to the president, and implementing his policies.
Trump chose Mats Gates as a candidate for the position of Attorney General, one of the most important positions in the US government responsible for enforcing the law. Gates is not only a supporter of "Israel" but has been accused of socializing with minors and human trafficking. However, Trump appointed him to exempt him from the crimes he himself is accused of, including sexual assaults and federal charges of attempting to overturn the 2020 elections that he lost.
These appointments indicate expectations that Trump's administration will be heavily involved in world affairs and ignite wars contrary to what was expected when he announced he came to end wars and focus on maximizing America's economic resources.
However, a number of Arab-American leaders in Dearborn told Politico on November 10th that Trump's conservative tendency and his isolationist motto of "America First" made some of them more comfortable supporting him, especially after they abandoned the Republican Party following the September 11 attacks.
The Washington Post commented on these appointments, stating that Trump's government will enhance the position of extremists in "Israel." The Guardian saw Trump's choices for defense and homeland security as confirming the positions of these aggressive and provocative politicians in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Washington Post confirmed that the appointments gave preference to the hawks, most of whom are staunch supporters of "Israel," and considered that the appointments provide a glimpse into Trump's foreign policy and his agenda in his second term.
