An Organized Plan
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation recently revealed that Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, has come up with a "prepared plan" to put an end to the ongoing war in the region. This war has been going on since October 7th.
What's in the Plan?
According to an informed source, Sinwar's plan involves a long ceasefire agreement that includes the withdrawal of Israeli army forces from Gaza. As part of this plan, Hamas would also keep some Israeli prisoners as a bargaining chip for the future.
Why Does Sinwar Want a Ceasefire?
Sinwar believes that the previous ceasefire did not benefit Hamas enough. He wants the Israeli army to withdraw from the occupied neighborhoods in Gaza and establish a long-lasting ceasefire. Sinwar thinks that this will help Hamas regain control over the areas that Israel currently occupies.
What Does Israel Think?
Israel sees things differently. They believe that Sinwar's demands are more than what they are willing to offer. However, Sinwar is confident that his plan is grounded in reality.
What about the Prisoners?
Hamas intends to keep a large number of Israeli prisoners as a bargaining chip for future negotiations. They want to be prepared in case Israel decides to resume ground maneuvers after another possible ceasefire.
Is the War Coming to an End?
Mediating countries believe that the war is approaching its final stages. However, Hamas is also preparing for the possibility of the war continuing for a long time.
Israel's Offer
Israeli officials are considering improving their offer to Hamas. They want to persuade Hamas to release more hostages by proposing a ceasefire that lasts for more than two weeks.
Hamas' Stance
Hamas has made it clear that they will not negotiate a prisoner exchange without a complete ceasefire. On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly stated that the war on Gaza will not stop until their goals are achieved.
