Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi recently says the situation is not looking good for Israel. The Palestinian resistance is gaining momentum, and the Israeli forces are losing ground.
Where the Battles are Happening
Al-Duwairi explained that the battles are taking place in various areas, including Bani Suhaila in the south and Al-Tawam, Al-Karama, and Al-Shujaiya in the north. These are the places where the clashes have been the most intense.
Israel's Lack of Control
What's interesting is that even though the Israeli forces entered some areas at the beginning of the battle, they haven't been able to fully establish control over them. This is true for places like Al-Tawam, Al-Karama, Beit Lahia, and Sheikh Radwan in the northern Gaza Strip. Al-Shujaiya, despite a decrease in fighting, is still witnessing fierce battles.
The Severity of the Injuries
The evacuation of wounded individuals from the Al-Qarara area in the south indicates the severity of the injuries sustained. Two troop carriers were destroyed, resulting in the loss of 22 personnel.
Israel's Heavy Losses
According to Al-Duwairi, the Israeli soldiers are experiencing fear and terror during the battles. They even killed three Israeli detainees out of fear that they were part of the resistance. The Golani Brigade, an elite brigade with artillery, infantry, and paratroopers battalions, has lost at least 10% of its forces. This setback is similar to what happened in Shuja'iya in 2014.
Israel's Limited Progress
Despite mobilizing six complete divisions for the war, the Israeli forces have only managed to penetrate about 25 kilometers of the northern sector, which is much larger. Most of the areas they entered have little military value and are mainly empty or agricultural areas. The situation is similar in the south, where the forces have entered agricultural and residential areas.
The Structural Defect and Decline in Readiness
Al-Duwairi believes that Israel's failure is due to a structural defect and a decline in individual readiness. Even with advanced weapons provided by the United States, Israel is still struggling to achieve significant results. The elite forces are not working together under one command.
Israel's Response to Biden's Speech
Interestingly, Israel did not respond to any of the American requests to reduce the targeting of civilians. This is evident from the incidents at Kamal Adwan Hospital and the ongoing massacres in Deir al-Balah. Al-Duwairi points out that there is no safe place in the entire Gaza Strip, despite Israel claiming otherwise.
