Crusades?   Some people are comparing the current aggression against Gaza to Crusades. They believe that the occupation's aggression is like an extension of the Crusades.

The Israeli Aggression

For the past three weeks, the Israeli military has been attacking the civilians of Gaza. What's even more concerning is the lack of response from Western countries. Instead of condemning the aggression , they are actually supporting Israel. This support has led some people to draw parallels between the current situation and the historical Crusades.

Western Support

Not only are Western countries issuing statements in support of Israel, but they are also mobilizing their forces in the region. This sends a message that they fully stand by the occupying state. European leaders have been visiting Israel one after another to show their support. Meanwhile, the United States has been strengthening its military presence in the eastern Mediterranean to deter anyone who might try to support the Palestinian resistance.

The Role of the United States

The United States has been actively involved in the conflict. They have sent advanced military equipment and deployed their aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford to the region. They even sent a group of experienced officers to assist Israeli military leaders in developing invasion plans. The US Defense Secretary has announced the departure of a second group of aircraft carriers to the eastern Mediterranean to deter any hostile actions against Israel.

The Zionist-Crusader War

Some people, like Saudi writer Dr. Mishari Al-Naim, believe that what is happening in Gaza is a modern-day Zionist-Crusader war. They argue that just like the Crusaders invaded Palestine in the Middle Ages, Western countries are now attacking Gaza with full support for Israel. They see the Western mindset as racist and immoral, driven by a desire to eradicate Islam.

Warnings from Turkish President Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also expressed concerns about the situation. He warned Western countries that their support for Israel could lead to a war between the cross and the crescent, referring to Christianity and Islam. He emphasized that his country will not stand idly by and criticized those who remain silent about the truth.

Reasons Behind Erdogan's Concerns

According to international relations researcher Muhannadoglu, Erdogan's concerns stem from two reasons. First, the absolute Western support for Israel without setting any red lines against their actions. Second, Erdogan believes that Hamas is not a terrorist organization but a defender of its people's rights. He sees the historical and religious significance of the land as a crucial factor in the conflict.

Is It Really a Crusade?

However, not everyone agrees with the comparison between the current aggression and the Crusades. Some argue that Western countries base their foreign policies on economic and political motives, rather than religious beliefs. They believe that the aggression against Gaza is driven by these motives, rather than a religious war.

The Prophecy of Isaiah

Interestingly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referred to the "prophecy of Isaiah" during a speech in the Israeli Knesset. He vowed to achieve an overwhelming victory in his war on Gaza, mentioning the destruction of Iraq, Damascus, Yemen, and Egypt, and the establishment of "Greater Israel" between the Nile and the Euphrates rivers.

The Devastating Consequences

Since the beginning of the aggression, more than 8,000 people, including many children, have lost their lives. Thousands of others have been injured, and many are still missing. The Israeli bombings have targeted residential areas, displaced convoys, and even medical service providers. The situation in Gaza is catastrophic.

It's important to understand the historical context and different perspectives surrounding the aggression against Gaza. By learning about these events, we can develop a better understanding of the world around us.
