Turkey has agreed to give combat drones to Egypt. This is a big deal because it shows that the two countries are making up and becoming friends again. The Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, announced this on Sunday.

Why It's Important

During a TV interview, Fidan said that the process of making things right between Turkey and Egypt is almost done. Having good relations with Egypt is really important for both countries' safety and trade in the region. That's why they decided to give Egypt these drones.

President Erdogan's Visit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is going to visit Egypt on February 14th! It's a big deal because it's been 12 years since the two countries were on good terms. Erdogan will meet with the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The History

It is worth mentioning that the two countries had some problems in the past. They even stopped talking to each other and took their ambassadors back home. This happened after the Egyptian President, Mohamed Morsi, was removed from power in 2013. But things started to get better when Erdogan and Sisi met in 2022 during the FIFA World Cup. They even talked on the phone in 2023 after a big earthquake hit Turkey and Syria.

Restoring Diplomatic Relations

Finally, in July 2023, Turkey and Egypt announced that they  decided to bring back their ambassadors and start talking to each other like before.
