Tunisian aerospace engineer Rania Toukabri stated that space science brings her closer to Allah and to the Quran, which she maintains a daily recitation of.
Toukabri pointed out that space and the universe, in general, can only lead to faith and the truths found in the Quran.
In a televised interview on the private Tunisian channel "Attessia," she added: "The knowledge I have acquired has brought me closer to Allah more than ever before and to the Quran, which has proven its alignment with science."
Rania Toukabri is participating in an international scientific project organized by engineers and scientists from the European Space Agency (ESA) as part of an analog astronaut training center after being selected by the United Nations.
This project is based on simulating an analog lunar mission in a specialized research laboratory isolated from time and natural light.
The project has been organized by scientists and engineers from the European Space Agency as a center for analog astronaut training.
During this scientific mission, Toukabri is involved in multidisciplinary experiments related to robotics, human-machine interaction, aquaponics, geology, space biology, and medicine, along with procedures required for health, safety, and efficiency while working in an isolated and harsh environment as preparation for future space missions.
Regarding her new experience, Rania noted that the journey to achieving her dream in Europe was not easy, especially because she is "a woman and from an Arab country," as she put it.
Rania Toukabri has been selected as the first Tunisian astronaut to undergo various preparatory stages in preparation for a mission to the Moon. The European Space Agency aims to build a lunar village equipped with suitable resources for human habitation.
It is worth mentioning that Rania Toukabri was named among the top specialists in space sciences in Africa after receiving numerous international awards.
