The winner of the most important literary award in Japan, Rei Kudan, just revealed that she used the artificial intelligence program called "Chat GPT" to help write her novel about the future climate. She thinks it helped her show off her writing skills!

The Award-Winning Novel

Kudan's latest novel, called "Tower of Mercy in Tokyo," won the Akutagawa Literary Prize. The judges thought it was so perfect that they couldn't find any mistakes in it!

AI's Contribution

But here's the interesting part: Kudan admitted that she used artificial intelligence to write about 5% of the book. She had conversations with the AI program and even shared her private thoughts with it. Sometimes, the AI's responses even inspired dialogues in the novel!

Controversy and Opinions

Some people are worried about this growing trend of using AI in writing. They think it's not ethical. Others, however, praised Kudan's creativity and the effort she put into extracting texts from the AI.

Robot Literature

Did you know that there's a whole new type of literature called "robot literature"? Amazon already has over 200 books written by robots using the GPT program, and that number keeps increasing!
