Allegations and responses: Is “Hamas,” a Zionist Jewish Creation!

By Center for Information and Knowledge Management November 15, 2023 5307

“Hamas” movement is a Zionist Jewish creation and a weapon in their arsenal, used to carry out their crimes. It operates skillfully to execute the Zionist enemy's agenda, aiming to destroy the Palestinian cause from within, dividing Palestine, and legitimizing the presence of the occupying invader and its killing of the oppressed Palestinians.

This allegation reminded me of the famous Arabic saying, “She threw me with her ailments, and slid off.” It is well-known that the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, represents one of the prominent Palestinian resistance movements and is not associated with Zionism. It is a movement that has gained and continues to gain widespread popularity among the Palestinian people. It adopts Islam as its belief, behavior, and methodology, specifically adhering to moderate Sunni Islam, as emphasized in all its publications.

One interesting discovery during my research on the origin of this allegation is that it was initially raised by some members of deviant Sufi groups and certain self-proclaimed Salafists, that do not represent Salafism in any way. It's striking how these seemingly opposing groups collaborated in spreading this allegation.

The forming of Hamas:

The Islamic Resistance Movement, known by the acronym “Hamas,” was established in December 1986. Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, may Allah have mercy on him, along with seven prominent leaders of the Islamic advocacy movement, most of whom were active preachers in Palestine, gathered for the formation of Hamas. The key figures included Ibrahim Al-Yazouri, Mohammed Shama'a (representatives from Gaza), Abdul Fattah Dukhan (representing the Central Region), Abdul Aziz Al-Rantisi (representing Khan Yunis), Issa Al-Nashar (representing Rafah), and Salah Shahada (representing the Northern Region). This meeting marked the launching of Hamas movement and the initial spark for Islamic public activities against the occupation, which later developed into more advanced stages.

While the formal announcement of Hamas was made in 1987, its existence under other names in Palestine dates back before 1948.

“Hamas” distributed its founding statement on 15/12/1987, during the first intifada that erupted from 1987 to 1994. The movement's charter was issued on 1/8/1988. However, the presence of the Islamic movement in Palestine had other designations dating back before 1948. “Hamas” considers itself an extension of the Muslim Brotherhood, founded in Egypt in 1928. Before the official announcement of the movement in 1987, it operated in Palestine under names such as “The Mujahideen on the Land of Isra” and “The Islamic Struggle Movement.”

Why the hostility towards “Hamas”?

Top of Form

Political analysts widely agree that the main reason for the hostility towards “Hamas” by the Zionist entity and its agents, both domestically and internationally, is that “Hamas” does not recognize any rights for Jews on Palestinian lands, who established their entity (Israel) through the occupation of Palestine in 1948. “Hamas” sees its conflict with the Zionist occupation as a “struggle for existence, not a border conflict.” It views Israel as part of a “Western Zionist colonial” project aimed at fragmenting the Islamic world, displacing Palestinians from their homes, and disrupting the unity of the Arab world. “Hamas” believes that various forms of jihad are the only means to liberate Palestinian land, emphasizing that peace negotiations with “Israel” are a waste of time and a way to compromise Palestinian rights.

“Hamas” believes that the process of reconciliation between the Palestinians and “Israel,” officially launched at the Madrid Conference in 1991, was based on flawed foundations. It sees the Declaration of Principles agreement between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and “Israel” in 1993, as well as the subsequent mutual recognition speeches and the amendment of the organization's charter, of omitting phrases calling for the elimination “of Israel,” as abandonment of Arab and Muslim rights in historic Palestine.

“Hamas” insists that Israel is the one obligated to recognize Palestinians' right to their land and the right of return first. It believes that the liberation of Palestine can only be achieved through jihad for the sake of Allah, as stated in its charter: “When enemies usurp some of the Muslims' lands, Jihad becomes an individual duty binding on all Muslims.”

In the face of Jewish occupation of Palestine, Hamas believes that calling for jihad is essential. To achieve this, there is a need to spread Islamic awareness among the masses locally, regionally, and Islamically. The involvement of scholars, educators, media personnel, and intellectuals, especially those within Islamic movements, is crucial. “Hamas” emphasizes the importance of instilling the spirit of jihad in the nation, confronting enemies, and joining the ranks of the Mujahideen.

“Hamas” sees the need for a fundamental shift in educational curriculums to eliminate the effects of intellectual invasion. This invasion, initiated by Orientalists and missionaries, sought to destabilize the region after Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi defeated the Crusader armies. Those armies realized that they could not conquer Muslims without intellectual invasion, corrupting their thinking, distorting their heritage, and undermining their values. Only then, the invasion with soldiers can follow. This is why, the Prophet declared upon entering Jerusalem, “Now the Crusades have ended.”

“Hamas” asserts that political settlement agreements do not fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinian people and do not respond to their minimum expectations. It sees political settlements as unjust agreements that reward the occupation for usurping the Palestinian land, legitimizing it.

“Hamas” maintains that political settlements imply surrendering to the occupation's right to exist on most of the Palestinian land, resulting in the denial of the rights of millions of Palestinians, including the right of return, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent state on all Palestinian territories. “Hamas” deems such agreements inconsistent with international human values, charters, norms, and even in Islamic jurisprudence, that cannot be accepted.

Hamas Charter:

On May 1, 2017, “Hamas” announced its General Principles and Policies, consisting of 42 points divided into 12 titles.

In the charter, “Hamas” confirmed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, along the lines of June 4, 1967, is a “formula of national consensus.” It emphasized that it “would not relinquish any part of Palestinian land, regardless of reasons, circumstances, or pressures, no matter how prolonged the occupation.”

“Hamas” insisted on Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine and declared its rejection of “all projects and attempts aimed at liquidating the refugee issue.” It affirmed that it does not recognize the legitimacy of the Zionist entity, emphasizing that there is “no alternative to the complete liberation of Palestine, from its river to its sea.”

“Toofan Al-Aqsa”:

We are all living the heroic operation “Toofan Al-Aqsa” carried out by the Mujahideen of Hamas in collaboration with fighters from other factions. This operation was an extension of a series of heroic operations aimed at liberating Palestine from this occupying entity.

Is it acceptable, intellectually and logically, to consider that this movement, “Hamas,” and its counterparts in the Islamic resistance, are created by Zionists, especially when they are the ones who afflict and stigmatize the Zionists with severe torment!
