Protesters Demand Peace

A group of Jewish demonstrators in Los Angeles took a stand against the war in the Gaza Strip by blocking a busy highway during rush hour. Their goal was to bring attention to the need for an end to the violence.

Creating a Traffic Jam

The protesters sat down together on the highway, causing a traffic jam that stretched for miles. This added to the already heavy traffic in the city, causing inconvenience for many drivers.

Fighting for Change

The demonstration was organized by a group called Fnat Now, made up of American Jews who want to stop American support for the Israeli apartheid regime. They placed a large candlestick in the middle of the highway and chanted slogans calling for a ceasefire.

Speaking Out as Jews

The protesters wore black T-shirts with messages like "Not in our name" and "The Jews say stop shooting now" written in white. They wanted to make it clear that they were taking a stand against the violence being carried out in their name.

Police Intervention

After about an hour, the police stepped in and forcefully opened the road. They arrested some of the demonstrators who were blocking the highway.

Support from Others

Other activists also showed their support by boycotting US Congressional hearings in solidarity with Gaza. Jewish groups had previously organized protests in front of the White House and Congress, demanding an end to the war.

US Support for Israel

US President Joe Biden has stated that the United States will continue to provide military support to Israel until they eliminate the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
