A year after the war that ravaged on Gaza Strip, the State of Kuwait continues to affirm its humanitarian stance towards the Palestinian people, offering a helping hand and support through various relief projects, under the leadership of His Highness the Amir. Kuwait is known for its prominent role in supporting affected countries, especially in times of crisis. His Highness the Crown Prince confirmed this in his recent speech, where he renewed Kuwait's commitment to supporting humanity and providing relief to those in need around the world.
Kuwait's humanitarian role led by charitable societies
Over the past year, Kuwaiti charitable societies have been keen to meet the needs of affected families in Gaza, and Namaa Charity Society was at the forefront of these humanitarian institutions. On the occasion of the first anniversary of the "Al-Aqsa Flood", Namaa Charity announced the launch of the "7 Projects in Gaza" campaign, an initiative that includes 7 main projects aimed at providing relief and support to needy families in Gaza, such as providing food and health packages, sponsoring orphans, providing drinking water, and distributing clothes and health supplies.
Namaa Charity presented an account of what it provided during the past year, indicating that its charitable efforts benefited more than 1,472,938 people, through various programs such as the “Iftar Saem” campaign during the month of Ramadan, sponsoring orphans and families, in addition to urgent relief campaigns represented by the entry of convoys loaded with food and medical aid into Gaza, which included 14 trucks.
Launching the “7 Projects in Gaza” campaign to enhance support
As part of its continued support for the people of Gaza, Namaa Charity launched a new campaign under the title “7 Projects in Gaza”, to provide aid through 7 main paths including providing food baskets, watering, sponsoring orphans, providing blankets, vegetables, clothes, and shoes, which contributes to alleviating the suffering of affected families.
Namaa Charity stressed the importance of its commitment to coordinating with official bodies to ensure that aid arrives effectively and transparently, as the organization obtains the necessary licenses and coordinates with associations accredited by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure that its projects are implemented according to the required standards.
Various campaigns supporting food security and health in Gaza
Namaa Charity continued throughout the year to meet the urgent needs of the people of Gaza, launching various campaigns including “Fazaa Palestine” and “Al-Ta’akhi” that aim to sponsor affected families and provide fixed financial support; thus enhancing communication and solidarity between the Kuwaiti and Palestinian peoples. The “Together for Gaza” campaign also focused on providing food, shelter, and medicine, in addition to the “Water Supply” campaign that provided clean drinking water to affected families.
Sustainability and Supporting the Local Economy
In a move that enhances economic sustainability, Namaa Charity distributed food baskets and medical supplies in cooperation with local merchants in the West Bank; thus, supporting the local economy and providing job opportunities in these areas, and reflecting the institution’s approach in providing comprehensive support that extends to all aspects of the economic and social life of affected communities.
