Amid the ongoing escalation between the Palestinian resistance and the Zionist occupation, the “Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades,” the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), has once again resurfaced, bringing one of its most powerful historical weapons back to the forefront: martyrdom operations. This new move challenges the occupation and reminds it of the days of the Second Intifada.
On Wednesday evening, "Al-Qassam" released a video titled “The Martyrs Flood Will Drown You.”
The video, which garnered widespread attention, included scenes of significant operations carried out by the resistance in “Tel Aviv,” in addition to a voice message from the martyr Jaafar Munna, the perpetrator of the “Tel Aviv” operation last August.
In a remarkable scene, one of Al-Qassam's fighters, referred to as the “Living Martyr,” appeared, delivering a strong message to the Zionist occupation, threatening severe retaliation for its crimes in defense of Palestinian prisoners, especially the female prisoners suffering in the occupation’s prisons.
Shifting the Balance of Fear
Writer and political analyst Ibrahim Al-Madhoun emphasized that the release of this video by the "Al-Qassam Brigades," titled "Martyrs Flood," carries a strong warning to the “Israeli” occupation.
In a post on his "X" platform page, he noted that the continued implementation of the genocide policy against the Palestinian people by the occupation would push the resistance, led by “Hamas” and the “Al-Qassam Brigades,” to a new phase of martyrdom operations that would shake the enemy's entity.
He explained that these operations, which had previously seen a temporary decline, have now resurfaced as a decisive response to the ongoing massacres committed by the occupation, reshaping the balance of fear and imposing a new reality.
He added that what distinguishes this release is the appearance of one of the martyrdom knights announcing his will and preparing to meet Allah, with his identity concealed and voice altered, indicating the imminence of the operation’s execution. This scene reflects that the "Al-Qassam Brigades" have reorganized their ranks and prepared their teams to carry out these operations with greater force and impact.
He continued: “There is no doubt that the two martyrdom operations carried out last month shocked the enemy unexpectedly. If this approach is reinforced, the occupation will find itself facing a new equation in the conflict, where it will be unable to break the will of the resistors or stop the flood of martyrdom operations.”
Al-Madhoun noted that commander Yahya Sinwar is among the strongest supporters of the martyrdom operations strategy, which he considers a decisive weapon amidst the ongoing war on Gaza.
He clarified that these operations might come in revenge for leaders martyred outside the homeland, such as Ismail Haniyeh and Saleh Al-Arouri, and as a response to the massacres that have claimed the lives of more than 50,000 Palestinians since the aggression began.
Jihadi Supremacy
In a related context, international relations researcher Adham Abu Salmiya stated that the video reminds the occupation of the martyrdom operations carried out by the "Al-Qassam Brigades" during the Second Palestinian Intifada, which forced the enemy to withdraw from Gaza and parts of the northern West Bank.
Abu Salmiya added: “What stands out in the video is the publication of a martyr’s will, seemingly in preparation for his operation. This is a level of challenge, defiance, and jihadi supremacy we are not used to.”
He explained that the video paves the way for a new phase, leaving the question of when and where the upcoming operations will occur.
Writer Adham Sharqawi, in a post on his "X" platform account, affirmed that the spark of this war would affect everyone, and no one would be immune from it.
He said: "Whoever does not enter the war by choice will enter it by force. Neither the support fronts will remain as they are, nor will the spectators remain mere spectators. It is a flood in every sense of the word.”
Journalist Mohammad Al-Madhoun commented on the video, saying: "The messages from the 'Al-Qassam Brigades' today are clear, including the will of the martyr Jaafar Munna and another message from a martyrdom fighter threatening the occupation with vengeance. The return of martyrdom operations is the most feared nightmare for the occupation."
Activist Khaled Safi asked: “Are we on the verge of a new wave of martyrdom operations?”
Meanwhile, Mohammad Al-Eila pointed out that the video sends two messages: the first confirms that the coming days will witness this type of resistance, targeting the individual security of the Zionists as they target the security of the Palestinians. The second is directed at the resistance cells and the “Al-Qassam Brigades,” urging them to focus their efforts on martyrdom operations deep within the Zionist entity.
In conclusion, settlers' websites widely circulated the “Al-Qassam Brigades” video, indicating the significant impact it has on them and the future of the confrontation.
