Hamas Dealt Positively with the Ongoing Mediators' Discussions
The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" mentioned that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the movement's political bureau, recently made contacts with mediators in Qatar and Egypt about the ideas being discussed with them, with the aim of reaching an agreement to put an end to the brutal aggression that the Palestinian people in Gaza are facing.
The movement added that there have been communications between the head of the movement and officials in Turkey regarding the recent developments, indicating that the movement has dealt positively with the content of the ongoing discussions.
In turn, a member of the movement's political bureau, Hussam Badran, stated on Wednesday that the movement is eager to reach an agreement to stop the war, confirming that communication with the mediators is ongoing.
He said: "The movement exchanged some ideas with the mediators in order to stop the war and achieve a complete withdrawal from the sector," adding that the movement did not harden its demands during the negotiations, and that the occupation is trying to disrupt and evade.
They pointed out that “the enemy knows that pressure on the movement’s leadership and constant threats are of no use. He said that we are the party most keen to end the war, and that what concerns us is to achieve the basic demands of our people, upon which there is a national consensus.” Emphasizing that “successive American administrations were completely biased towards the occupation’s position.”
"Hamas" denies excluding the condition for a ceasefire
A member of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Dr. Basem Naim, denied the "Israeli" statements about excluding the condition for a ceasefire in the first stage of the expected deal.
He said in statements to "Al Jazeera Net": These statements are not true, and he confirmed that both sides will stop military operations in the first stage, and negotiations will take place during the period for the permanent ceasefire conditions.
The Hebrew channel 12 quoted an "Israeli" official as saying: The response of Hamas does not include the condition of a ceasefire in the first stage of the deal.
Channel 12 reported, citing the official: Hamas' response allows the release of detainees such as the elderly, children, the sick, the wounded, and women soldiers.
The official added that if Hamas violates the agreement, it can be withdrawn from it and return to fighting after the first stage.
