The Life and Sacrifice of Suhail Ziadeh
Suhail Ziadeh was a Palestinian resistance fighter and activist, known for his role in the manufacture of mortar shells and guided devices for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas. He was involved in creating rockets like the “1,” “2,” and “RB” Qassam rockets. Unfortunately, he was martyred during a reconnaissance operation in Gaza City after being bombed by Israeli tanks.
Birth and Upbringing
Suhail Ziadeh, also known as “Abu Al-Abd,” was born on November 3, 1975, in Jabalia Camp. He grew up in a simple home that followed Islamic teachings. He was drawn to mosques from a young age and started his jihadi life during his secondary school years.
Study and scientific training!
He studied at the Islamic University until he was arrested by the Palestinian Authority in 1996.
The sacrificial experience
After meeting Commander Imad Aql, Suhail joined the Al-Qassam Brigades. He was later arrested by the Palestinian Authority and spent 5 years in Al-Saraya Prison. In 1998, he attempted to escape but was caught and tortured for 5 days.
He was eventually released during the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000, but faced persecution once again.
Military experience
Ziadeh led groups in the Al-Qassam Brigades, conducting incursions and bombarding settlements with mortar shells. He was skilled in manufacturing RPG shells and missiles like Qassam 1 and 2. He also participated in planning various military operations.
Despite losing three fingers and sustaining a head injury, Ziadeh continued his work, even launching rockets towards settlements.
Assassination
Tragically, Suhail Ziadeh was martyred in 2002 during a reconnaissance operation in Gaza City. Israeli tanks bombed him and his companions, leading to his untimely death at the age of 27.
