Difficult Hours in Gaza
On the 108th day of the Israeli war on Gaza, there was intense bombing in Khan Yunis. This caused a lot of damage and many people were hurt or killed. It's a really sad situation.
In cities like Gaza, Jabalia, Al-Maghazi, and Khan Yunis, there are big fights going on between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli army. It's a dangerous and scary time for the people living there.
A New Call for Displacement
There's also been some talk about a possible solution to the conflict. The Foreign Minister of Israel, Yisrael Katz, suggested building an artificial island as an alternative homeland for the Palestinians. He said it could be like a commercial center, similar to Singapore. But this idea has been met with a lot of criticism and it's not clear if it will happen.
Prisoners File
Another important issue is the situation of Israeli prisoners held by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, rejected a proposed prisoner exchange deal because he thinks it would mean giving in to the demands of the other side. He believes that putting military pressure on the resistance is the only way to get the prisoners back.
West Bank
Meanwhile, in the West Bank, there have been clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli army. The army has been raiding cities and towns, and some people have been injured. It's a tense situation there too.
Israeli Forces Redeployed
The Israeli "Wala" website recently reported that the Israeli army has decided to reduce its presence in Gaza and move some of its forces to the West Bank. This decision was made due to concerns about the escalating situation in the West Bank.
Call for International Intervention
Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh has called for increased international intervention to stop the aggression and killing by Israeli forces. He also urged for an end to the war crimes committed by Israel in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Hezbollah's Actions
Hezbollah, a Lebanese political and military organization, announced the killing of two of its members. This brings the total number of party members killed since October 8th to 146. Hezbollah also claimed responsibility for bombing several Israeli military sites, including an Israeli army force in the Israeli Abu Dajj Heights.
Israeli Attacks in Lebanon
The Israeli army targeted residential buildings in southern Lebanon through air strikes and artillery shelling. They used phosphorus shells, which are highly destructive. The town of Kafr Kila was specifically targeted, and there were reports of Israeli artillery fire from Metulla towards the town.
Fear in the North
An Israeli academic study revealed that around 60% of the settlers who were evacuated from the northern regions are afraid to return to their homes. Additionally, about 40% of those who remained in their homes reported experiencing symptoms of post-traumatic stress without receiving proper psychological support from the state. The study also showed that residents of the Eastern Galilee experienced three times more post-traumatic feelings compared to before the conflict.
Preparations for Evacuation
The Israeli army is preparing a plan to potentially shelter around 100,000 people on the northern border. This plan is in anticipation of a possible escalation of the conflict. The mayor of Haifa has advised the city's residents to stock up on food in case of a war with Lebanon.
Netanyahu Survives Vote of No Confidence
The Israeli Knesset (Parliament) failed to hold a session of no confidence in the government. The session was called for by Labor Party leader Merav Michaeli, but it was boycotted by members of the ruling coalition. Only 18 members approved the no-confidence proposal, falling short of the required 61 votes for it to pass. The motion of no confidence was submitted after Prime Minister Netanyahu refused to reach an agreement to release Israeli detainees in Gaza.
Denial of Ship Targeting
The US Fifth Fleet has denied the Houthi group's claim of successfully attacking a US military cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden with naval missiles. The fleet confirmed that they maintained continuous communication with the ship "Ocean Gas" throughout its safe transit. The Houthi group had announced the targeting of the American cargo ship as a response to the American-British aggression against Yemen.
