The Chairman of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, Senator Mark Warner, recently expressed his concern about the current situation in Gaza. He emphasized the importance of the ceasefire and urged Israel to release Palestinian funds.

Israel's Need to Regain Sympathy

In an interview with MSNBC, Senator Warner stated that Israel has lost the sympathy of people around the world. He believes that Israel must demonstrate good faith by releasing Palestinian tax revenues.

Hopes for a Lasting Truce

Senator Warner hopes that the current truce between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) will continue for as long as possible. This would allow for the release of a significant number of prisoners.

Concerns about Chaos and War

Last October, Senator Warner expressed concern about the possibility of the Palestinian Authority abandoning its security responsibilities in the West Bank. This could have led to chaos and opened a second war front against Israel. Fortunately, this did not happen.

The Devastating War in Gaza

Prior to the temporary humanitarian truce, the Israeli occupation army launched a devastating war on the Gaza Strip. This war, which began on October 7, resulted in the loss of over 15,000 lives, including more than 10,000 children and women. Additionally, thousands of people are still missing, and the number of injured exceeds 36,000.
