Kuwait Urges Action Against Islamophobia Featured

Kuwait's Foreign Minister, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, led a delegation to a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku, Azerbaijan. The meeting aimed to address emerging challenges and promote cooperation among member states.

A Better Future
Sheikh Salem highlighted the desire for stability, peace, and dignity among the people. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to achieve the aspirations of all nations and create an environment that promotes development, security, and peace.

Justice for Palestinians
The Foreign Minister called on member states to continue their pursuit of a just and comprehensive peace for Palestinians. He expressed concern about the actions of the occupying power and urged an end to settlements, land confiscation, house demolitions, and displacement of Palestinians.

Stability in Sudan
Sheikh Salem also discussed Kuwait's efforts to ensure stability in Sudan. The country is committed to supporting Sudan during its transition period.

Combating Islamophobia
Sheikh Salem stressed the importance of international collaboration to combat Islamophobia and hate speech. He condemned recent acts of burning the Holy Quran and called for accountability for the perpetrators. Kuwait also urged the international community to adopt laws that criminalize the defamation of religions and beliefs.
