Eight passengers have been killed and 26 injured in a terror attack on a train in Nigeria’s northwest Kaduna State, officials said Tuesday.
Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security Samuel Aruwa said terrorists attacked the train with 362 passengers on board that was coming from Abuja, the national capital late Monday.
He said the government received details of the attack from the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC)
"The passenger manifest does not include NRC staff and security officials who were on board," he said.
Aruwa advised victims’ relatives to contact the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency.
Nigeria Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited injured passengers at a hospital in Kaduna.
It was the second terror attack on a train in the last year in the area./aa
