The occupation targets Kamal Adwan Hospital
The Israeli occupation forces demanded the evacuation of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza and proceeded to bomb it and fire upon its facilities, jeopardizing the lives of patients, their companions, and medical staff. The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that the occupation ordered the immediate evacuation of the hospital, while a correspondent for "Al Jazeera" reported a loss of communication with journalists inside.
"Al Jazeera" mentioned that it obtained footage showing a crowd of wounded women and children in the corridors of the hospital after all its sections were targeted by gunfire and shelling. The hospital's director, Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, stated that the bombing targeted the hospital directly, holding the international community responsible for what is happening.
Gaza government: The occupation's threats to Kamal Adwan Hospital are a systematic crime to destroy the health sector
The government media office in Gaza condemned in the strongest terms the repeated Israeli threats against Kamal Adwan Hospital, considering them a part of a systematic plan to destroy the health sector. The office called in a statement for the World Health Organization to send an urgent field delegation to investigate the perpetrated crimes and ensure the protection of health facilities and medical teams.
It also urged the international community to take immediate action to stop these crimes. The occupation “Israeli” and the countries supporting it, such as the United States, Britain, Germany, and France, bear full responsibility for the continuation of genocide in the sector.
Hebrew newspaper: Jabalia has become a ghost town
The Hebrew newspaper "Haaretz" revealed that the occupation has destroyed about 70% of the buildings in the Jabalia camp since the start of its military operations there on October 5, 2024. It indicated that what remains of the buildings has suffered severe damage, turning the camp into a "ghost town." Sánchez made these statements during his participation in the International Socialist Conference held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, from Friday to Sunday, according to the "Palestinian Information Center."
In his speech, Sánchez highlighted "the importance of working to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East," stressing the need for "international efforts to address the escalating crises in many parts of the world, especially in Palestine."
He also affirmed that ending the "Israeli" occupation is a fundamental step towards empowering the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, adding: "We must put an end to the suffering of the Palestinians and eliminate the siege and restrictions that affect their daily lives."
"And Remind Them of the Days of Allah"
This reminder is a lesson, a reflection, and a source of experience, deserving of remembrance and specialization, and a reminder for the nation in the world. The matter concerns the nation, as it is among the blessed days of Allah. Thus, I address the topic of "stabilizing events in the system of change." Dr. Hamid Rabi' used to say: History is a laboratory of experiments, and therefore, historical and spatial experiences can be utilized to create nurseries for reform.
The Context of Syria
What happened in Syria is not a product of the moment. There were reform laboratories and nurseries in Idlib and Aleppo. These laboratories and nurseries (liberated areas) form a foundation and a beginning for wide-ranging and significant reform, not only in Syria but across the entire nation, despite the state boundaries and nationalism that have turned borders into restrictions on the nation's movement and effectiveness. These borders have transformed their leaders and owners into roles of detriment and devoid of benefits and fruits.
Strategic Mobilization
Here, I draw attention to an important issue: When can we organize those pages of the Days of Allah and their decisive, revealing events in the book of the coming strategic mobilization? We move from one state to another within the laws of change. Joy should be employed as an expression of broad hope, according to Al-Mawardi: The world is only rectified by six things, concluding with broad hope. Broad hope may come at a specific point, place, and time, but we must make it broad, wide, influential, impactful, real, and elevating.
Recognizing Events
There are fundamental prerequisites to viewing the event internally and externally: Tyranny and occupation are one creed; aggression was in "the flood of Al-Aqsa" (the usurping occupying enemy), and thus tyranny and despotism stem from aggression and vice versa.
Transitional Phase
The concept of the transitional phase emerged in psychology, associated with the phase between childhood and maturity, known as adolescence. Adolescence is called a transitional phase because it transitions from childhood to maturity. This concept was also introduced in economic literature when discussing stages of growth, with a transitional phase between growth stages. This concept found its way into sociological literature—especially Western—where it was called "the transitional society," referring to the shift from traditional or underdeveloped states to modernity.
Democratic Transition
Political development and political systems science also include the concept of "democratic transition." The process of democratic transition is linked to the process of transition. Hence, we are faced with extensive literature and a concept that travels from one field to another. In political science, the concept takes two forms: the customary form related to transitional phases in the shape of elections and political transformation, and the form after revolutions.
Managing Transition
We must understand the contexts to grasp the nature of the transitional phase, its stages, and its objectives. Managing the transition and the necessary awareness after the first liberation battle, represented by toppling the tyrant, is a significant ongoing effort to eliminate the tyrant's system and regime, along with the challenges, crises, and entanglements it left behind. This underscores the necessity of establishing a strategy for managing transitional phases, building on existing structures and plans, creating and establishing what is missing, and achieving the desired near and mid-term objectives. This involves challenges such as initiation, survival, construction, performance, growth, advancement, completion, and effective movement in achievement and impact.
Strategic Management
There must be strategic tools for change management, primarily a "strategic consultative mind" in managing and organizing change. The transition is not a singular matter; it encompasses political, economic, social, security, military, societal, and constitutional transitions to formulate a minimum agreement and build a new social contract. Institutionally, it includes judicial, security, and other institutions that must be placed on the change agenda.
Moving Beyond the Moment
In the study of the science of transition and the management of its stages, it is essential to move beyond the snapshot of the moment to the true objective, in speech, action, and movement. Defining transitional phases as managing exceptions, which are fundamentally different from stability phases, is crucial. The transitional period can last five years or slightly more.
Differentiating Push and Impulse
Managing the transitional phase requires differentiating between push and impulse; confusion between the two could lead to lost opportunities. Why? Because the first requirement is to map the Syrian reality, as well as the regional and international reality. Understanding the contexts, their intersections, and interactions is essential. However, the primary challenge is that this reality must be urgently and quickly raised, and these maps must be drawn within a few days due to their pressing need. These maps must rely on accurate and sufficient information, allowing decision-makers to understand the ground they move on accurately and genuinely.
Avoiding Western Prescriptions
Equally important is avoiding Western prescriptions in transitional phases. The Syrian revolution must steer clear of solutions like elections and constitutions. Political representation does not have to be limited to elections; it can be managed in various ways and methods. It is possible to address this using recognized scientific approaches, especially after mapping the different realities.
Birth of Three Revolutions
Three revolutions are born with the protest actions forming the revolutionary act: the first seeks change, the second stirs anti-revolutionaries, and the third is a revolution of expectations. Every change or revolution has a promise, and it is crucial to have a clear promise for the people, not overwhelmed by rosy images or smothered by economic conditions. It must not fall into oblivion and become a forgotten relic.
Creating Awareness
Balancing revolutionary actions between the three approaches related to revolutions is necessary in the transitional stages. This is where the emphasis on creating awareness comes in; it is a significant endeavor aimed at forming a new culture and collective consciousness. This requires real institutions to disseminate change ideas and systems, seize and capitalize on these events. It should be an opportunity not to be wasted or killed by neglect or impulsiveness. The current push should seek to draw lessons from the Syrian model that may add value in this regard.
Defining the Syrian Model
To build this Syrian model, we need to identify the knowledge model that represents our reference. Each component provides vision, awareness, and pursuit, understanding the contexts and interactions, whether international, regional, local, or internal, through mapping: strength and effectiveness, capabilities and possibilities, tools for creating status and empowerment, and building strategies and tools around guaranteed pursuit and secure awareness. These include the desired discourse strategy, the strategic collective mind, the required liberation, and the promised livelihood for the people and the public.
Comprehensive Contexts
All of this must be in comprehensive contexts, ensuring and safeguarding the revolution and its people and continuity against change thieves, the most dangerous group the revolutionaries may encounter. The popular support base must be preserved and invested in.
Policies of tyranny and despotism have severely affected the weak in Syria and the nation; the weak are the leaders of the convoy and must not be forgotten. The completeness of change must be proportionate and inclusive of the people, with the people, and for the people. Polarization kills change and, with its outbreak and the inability to organize and manage it, becomes the graveyard of revolutions.

On the 442nd day of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the Israeli army continues to commit massacres against Palestinians and target residential buildings, resulting in an increase in the death toll and injuries amidst a worsening humanitarian catastrophe due to the imposed siege on the strip.
A statement from the Civil Defense confirmed that the occupation forces are preventing the retrieval of the bodies of martyrs throughout the Gaza Strip.
Reporters reported today, Saturday, that 7 Palestinians were martyred and others were injured due to an Israeli strike that targeted an internet point in the Beach Camp, west of Gaza City.

It clarified in a statement that the occupation army prevents Civil Defense teams and medical teams from reaching the bodies of martyrs in every area they infiltrate, claiming that these are "dangerous combat zones" and directly fires upon the teams whenever they approach those areas.
The Civil Defense confirmed that these measures taken by the Israeli occupation are "inconsistent with heavenly laws as well as international and humanitarian laws."
The statement indicated that Civil Defense teams found the bodies of martyrs to be nothing but "skeletons," and in other cases witnessed dogs devouring other bodies, in areas such as the Zaytoun neighborhood, Shuja'iyya, Tal Al-Hawa, Jabalia, Tal Al-Zaatar, Beit Hanoun, and in some eastern areas of Khan Younis and Rafah.

From its offices in Kuwait to remote villages around the world, charitable aid moves along a well-organized digital pathway that relies on data analysis and intelligent decision-making in real time.
This transformation has made Namaa Charitable Organization a global model in governance and transparency, where every donation, every project, and every orphan is monitored by intelligent technology that never overlooks.
Namaa Charitable Organization has transcended traditional methods, relying on advanced digital tools, making its systems resemble digital neural networks that connect donors and beneficiaries through smart tracking technologies and artificial intelligence, thus creating a technological revolution in charitable work.
Artificial Intelligence in the Cycle of Charitable Projects
Namaa Charitable Organization follows an integrated cycle for managing charitable projects, where artificial intelligence is the driving force in all its stages, from assessing needs abroad to implementing projects and tracking their impact.
Smart Needs Assessment
The journey begins through systems that sense the needs of communities in need. Reports are electronically submitted through platforms that use artificial intelligence to analyze data sent from the field. This technology allows for highly accurate identification of needs, which contributes to speeding up responses and reducing waste.
Project Planning and Automatic Marketing
Once needs are identified, artificial intelligence algorithms are employed to design the optimal project plans, providing recommendations based on analysis of previous data and best practices. Projects are then marketed through digital channels, targeting the right donors at the right time, with personalized marketing messages.
Project Implementation and Smart Sponsorship Management
During implementation, workflow is monitored using digital project management platforms, where execution reports are transformed into interactive dashboards. This enables the team to track progress and address any deviations along the way.
Regarding sponsorship projects, management is conducted through smart systems that monitor the status of orphans and beneficiaries through automatically updated reports displayed to the team and funders in real time.
Digitization in Food Basket Distribution
Smart Giving Programming:
The distribution of food baskets in Kuwait has not been far from digital innovation, as Namaa Charitable Organization has developed a digital system based on barcodes and interactive text messages, making charity easier, faster, and safer.
Smart Messages for Beneficiaries
The process begins with sending SMS messages to beneficiaries containing a registration link. Once the beneficiary enters the link, they input their basic information on a secure digital platform, where data accuracy is verified automatically.
Activation of Personal Barcodes
Upon completing their registration, beneficiaries receive a unique barcode sent directly to their phone, serving as a digital key that enables them to easily collect their food basket.
Smart Distribution System
At the distribution center, beneficiaries present their digital barcode to the relevant staff member, who uses smart barcode scanners connected to a central database system to display all relevant details about the beneficiary, including the type of designated basket and the beneficiary's needs, thereby enhancing transparency and preventing double dipping.
Orphan Care Application: Smart Management in Your Pocket

The application allows the management team to conduct daily follow-ups without the need for physical presence.
University Student Support Project: A Comprehensive Digital Educational Journey
In the journey of supporting university students, Nama Charity launched a smart initiative based on comprehensive digitization for registration, assessment, and funding, making the path to higher education easier and less complicated thanks to advanced digital infrastructure.
Comprehensive Electronic Registration
The process begins with the launch of an electronic link via social media platforms and SMS, allowing students to apply through an integrated electronic portal that simplifies data entry and document uploads. This step eliminates traditional paperwork, saving time and effort.
Automated Data Verification
Once data is entered, documents enter a digital verification phase, where machine learning algorithms are applied to verify document validity and the fulfillment of required criteria. This step reduces human intervention and speeds up the decision-making process.
Interactive Messaging System
If the student meets the criteria, an immediate SMS is sent to inform them of the acceptance of their application, providing immediate reassurance. If the criteria are not met, they receive a notification explaining the next steps.
Digital Financial Transfer
Once the application is accepted, the data is electronically submitted to the Ministry of Affairs platform for obtaining official approvals. After completing the processes, financial support is directly transferred to the guardian's account via electronic payment systems.
Nama Charity has transformed from a traditional charity organization into a digital humanitarian platform that relies on artificial intelligence in project implementation, barcode technology in distribution, and smart electronic portals in educational support, as well as secure transfer systems in foreign aid.
This digital leap has not merely been a regular upgrade, but a qualitative jump that places Nama Charity among the leaders of digital humanitarian work globally.

The Future of E-Commerce in Kuwait
Kuwait is heading towards a bright future in e-commerce, with reports predicting a continued growth rate of 12.57% CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) until 2028. The share of online purchases is expected to increase to 8% by 2028, compared to 6.6% in 2023.
Future Trends:
- Increased use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance customer experience.
- Diversification of payment methods, including payments through digital wallets and innovative financial technologies (FinTech).
- Adoption of omnichannel strategies, where companies integrate digital sales channels with physical stores.
Gulf and Regional Comparison in E-Commerce
Kuwait is part of the e-commerce ecosystem in the Gulf region, competing with other GCC countries in market size and growth rate. Although Kuwait ranks fourth in the Gulf after Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, it is achieving steady and remarkable growth rates. In 2023, e-commerce revenues in Kuwait reached $1.5 billion, placing it behind Saudi Arabia ($8.7 billion) and the UAE ($7.5 billion), which together represent more than 76% of total e-commerce sales in the Gulf. Qatar recorded revenues of $2.8 billion, driven by rising local demand and increased reliance on online purchasing.
In terms of CAGR, Kuwait shows an annual growth rate of 19.6%, reflecting stable and upward performance, while Oman achieved the highest growth rate at 32.7%, reaching revenues of $0.7 billion. Despite the gap between Kuwait and larger countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Kuwait is distinguished by stable growth rates and developing performance, especially with the trend towards improving digital infrastructure and supporting local e-commerce platforms.
These figures indicate that Saudi Arabia and the UAE dominate the largest share of the e-commerce market in the Gulf, supported by advanced infrastructure, diverse promotional offerings, and reliance on modern technology. However, Kuwait is steadily progressing towards expanding its e-commerce market, benefiting from a young demographic and rapid adoption of modern technologies, making it capable of competing effectively in the coming years.
Kuwait has managed to achieve qualitative leaps in the field of e-commerce, thanks to government support and a strong digital infrastructure. As this growth continues, the sector is expected to witness further prosperity, particularly with the introduction of more artificial intelligence technologies and digital transformation.
With the rise in online shopping rates, the challenge is not فقط about keeping up with technological developments, but also about providing an exceptional shopping experience for consumers. The time now is for innovation and development, as Kuwaiti companies will need to adopt more flexible business models that allow for a comfortable and secure shopping experience.
In the future, e-commerce in Kuwait will remain a fundamental pillar of the national economy, transforming into one of the key pillars of economic growth, reflecting the strength of the Kuwaiti market in keeping pace with global changes.
Moreover, Qusai Al-Shatti, an IT expert and former director-general of the Central Agency for Information Technology, stated in a special statement to Al-Anbaa newspaper that e-commerce in Kuwait is expected to reach $1.61 billion during the current year, equivalent to more than 500 million Kuwaiti Dinars, according to a report issued by the consulting and research center “TechNavio”.
Al-Shatti pointed out that the growth rate of e-commerce in Kuwait from 2018 to 2023 reached 11.33%, expecting that the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) will see a significant increase of 12.57% during the period from 2024 to 2028, which enhances Kuwait’s position as one of the fastest-growing markets in e-commerce.
He clarified that these figures are based on the trade volume in several key sectors, most notably fashion, clothing, electronics, beauty and personal care products, children's toys, food, and meals and beverages. He reported that the orders include those sent by various types of mail or direct delivery services, in addition to orders paid electronically or through the cash-on-delivery option.
The role of digital infrastructure in supporting e-commerce
Al-Shatti confirmed that the digital infrastructure in Kuwait is a fundamental factor and a key driver for e-commerce growth, as it allows 99% of the country's population to access the internet with broadband speeds in a secure and competitive pricing environment, thus enhancing the convenience and flexibility of online shopping. He noted that the widespread availability of smartphones among various demographic groups in the country, regardless of their income and living standards, has directly contributed to enhancing the use of e-commerce.
He added that Kuwait ranks first globally in the adoption of fifth-generation technology (5G), according to reports from the International Telecommunication Union, indicating that this achievement has been realized for the second consecutive year. He explained that this technology has provided immense technical capabilities that have helped facilitate and accelerate online shopping processes, which has strengthened Kuwait’s position in the regional e-commerce market.
The future of e-commerce in Kuwait
Al-Shatti expressed optimism regarding the continued growth of e-commerce in the medium term, indicating that this growth will not be limited to Kuwait alone, but will also encompass global markets. He added that e-commerce will continue to capture a larger portion of retail sales, which will lead to a decline in traditional shopping in physical stores.
He cited global cases such as the bankruptcy of some major brands, where Sears closed several of its stores in the United States, while Debenhams in the UK closed some of its branches due to the increasing trend toward online shopping. He explained that many retail companies have reduced the number of their branches as a result of consumers shifting to online shopping, noting that Kuwait will not be an exception to this global trend.
Al-Shatti referred to the IPSOS study center report, which showed that 53% of Kuwaiti consumers made online purchases, while 60% of participants mentioned that the experience of shopping in physical stores cannot be fully compensated by online shopping. However, the surprise was that 39% of participants confirmed that most of their future shopping will be online, reflecting a gradual shift in consumer behavior patterns, not only in Kuwait but globally.
A look at global e-commerce
Al-Shatti explained that the global e-commerce market is witnessing massive growth, with expectations that the global trade volume in e-commerce will reach $6 trillion by the end of this year, according to a report by the eMarketer study center. He noted that China accounts for $3 trillion of the total global market, making it the most prominent player in this field, as it represents 47% of total online retail sales.
The report itself stated that the global retail market reached $29.7 trillion, with e-commerce representing about 19.5% of that. Al-Shatti pointed out that this percentage reflects a significant room for future growth, as traditional shopping remains the main sales channel. He confirmed that the global trend is moving towards increasing the share of e-commerce even more over the coming years.
Factors Influencing Consumer Behavior Towards Online Shopping
Regarding the reasons that have driven consumers in Kuwait to prefer online shopping, Al-Shatti pointed to several key factors, the most prominent of which are:
- Time and Effort Savings: Consumers can browse products and purchase them at any time and from anywhere.
-Convenience and Flexibility: Online shopping provides a comfortable experience, with multiple shipping and payment options.
- Product Variety: E-commerce stores offer a wider range of products compared to traditional stores.
- Promotional Offers and Discounts: Online shopping allows access to exclusive deals that are not available in physical stores.
- Competitive Prices: Lower prices are often offered on digital platforms compared to physical stores.
Al-Shatti added that the evolution of e-commerce platforms, particularly in ease of browsing and purchasing, has played a role in encouraging consumers to embrace this type of shopping. Additionally, the proliferation of online sales channels, known as the "omnichannel" concept, has contributed to providing customers with a seamless shopping experience, thus enhancing the trend towards online shopping.
Future Expectations for E-Commerce
Al-Shatti indicated that e-commerce will continue to capture larger shares of the retail market, which may lead to the closure of more physical stores worldwide. He confirmed that the prevailing trend in the future will favor e-commerce, with expectations that it will replace traditional shopping malls.
Al-Shatti anticipated that Kuwaiti consumers will experience a significant shift in shopping patterns, especially with the growing reliance on electronic payment methods. A "TechNavio" report indicated that a large portion of consumers prefer electronic payment over cash on delivery options.
He also noted that the concept of "omnichannel," which blends e-commerce with physical stores, will be the most significant trend in the coming years, as companies work to provide an integrated shopping experience that combines online shopping with in-store visits.
Al-Shatti's forecasts regarding the future of e-commerce in Kuwait affirm that it is steadily moving towards further growth and prosperity. As consumers continue to shift towards digital shopping, the Kuwaiti market is expected to witness radical changes in consumption patterns, boosting the demand for digital services and positioning Kuwait as one of the promising e-commerce markets in the region.
Thanks to the advanced digital infrastructure, the adoption of 5G technology, and the increasing level of trust in electronic payment methods, it can be said that e-commerce in Kuwait will continue its upward trajectory, becoming a fundamental pillar in the Kuwaiti digital economy.

History books narrate that Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, sent four armies to Levant, each led by a different commander and aimed at four objectives: Homs, Damascus, Jordan, and Palestine. The total number of soldiers in these armies was twenty-four thousand, which included one thousand companions, among them one hundred who were present at the Battle of Badr.
Six months had passed, and the four armies were engaged in limited clashes on various fronts without achieving any notable victory. Heraclius began to assemble a great army to fight the Muslims. When Abu Bakr learned of this, he sent a message to Khalid ibn al-Walid, instructing him to leave Iraq and head to Syria as quickly as possible. Thus, he embarked on his famous journey, which remains a military mystery to this day, traversing the desert with nine thousand fighters in eighteen days—a journey that was not known at that time for anyone to complete in less than four weeks.
Khalid arrived in the Levant and found the four armies scattered, each one in a different direction. Sharhabil's army was fighting on the walls of Busrā and was on the verge of suffering a severe defeat, so Khalid came to his aid, and Busra al-Sham was opened through a peace agreement. It became the first large city to fall into the hands of the Muslims since the beginning of the campaign in the Levant. At that point, the Romans began gathering their forces at Ajnadayn(which is a location near Jerusalem, between it and Gaza and Ashkelon), and it seemed that they were determined to expel the Muslims from the Levant, as that was the largest force they had assembled for a single battle up to that time.
Khalid called the four armies to gather in Ajnadayn, and they collectively engaged in the first decisive battle in the Levant. The number of Romans was about ninety thousand fighters, which was approximately three times the number of Muslims. However, the unity of the Muslim armies under one leadership compensated for the numerical disadvantage and equipment. Thus, the first great victory for the armies of the conquest of Greater Syria was achieved on the twenty-seventh of Jumada al-Awwal in the thirteenth year of the Hijra, followed by a major victory in Marj al-Suffar three weeks later (a wide plain extending between al-Kisweh and Ghabaghib south of Damascus), then two more significant victories in Fahl and Baysan before the end of the year. In the following year, Damascus was conquered, and then Homs was opened in the second spring of the fifteenth year.
Heraclius realized that the Levant was on the verge of permanently slipping from the control of the Romans, so he spent the following months assembling one of the largest military forces that the land of the Levant had ever seen throughout history. He gathered an army of about a quarter of a million soldiers and descended upon Yarmouk. Abu Ubayda
consulted his companions (as Umar had appointed him over the armies of the Levant after the death of Abu Bakr), and most of them advised him to withdraw from the Levant, fearing for the Muslims' survival, as they numbered thirty-three thousand, meaning the Romans were seven times the number of the Muslims. Khalid ibn al-Walid suggested fighting, and Abu Ubayda agreed with his opinion and appointed him as the commander of the battle.
Until that time, the Muslims were fighting in an organized manner, with each of the five armies being an independent entity with its own leader and formation. The armies would support each other in battle. When Khalid saw the Byzantine army formed into a solid block in a unified deployment, he addressed the leaders of the armies and said: "O leaders, is there something you would do that would glorify the religion of God and bring you no shame? For this is a day among the days of God, in which neither oppression nor arrogance should prevail. Purify your struggle and your actions for the sake of God, and do not fight against a people who are organized and deployed while you are in support and spread. For this is neither appropriate nor permissible."
They said: What is the opinion? He said: Indeed, Abu Bakr did not send us as leaders of the armies except when he believed that we would prevail. Had he known what would happen, he would have gathered you all into one army. What you are experiencing in terms of division is more harmful to the Muslims than what has befallen them and more beneficial to the polytheists than their numbers. And I have known that the world has divided you. So, take care, for each of your leaders has been placed in charge of a region, and it does not diminish him if he submits to another of the leaders, nor does it increase him if he submits to him. Indeed, the leadership of some of you over others does not diminish your standing before Allah. So come together, for these people have prepared and united for a day to come that has no equal. If we push them back to their trench today, we will continue to push them back. And if they defeat us, we will not succeed afterward.
Ahmad Adel Kamal said in his book El Nafes "The Road to Damascus," describing the two armies on the day of Yarmouk: "The Romans marched in a formation unlike anything ever seen before, and the Muslim army marched in a formation that the Arabs had never known before. Khalid integrated the five armies into a complete union, so they became one army unrelated to the original divisions. When we examine the units of the unified army, we find that each one contains elements from the five original armies. Therefore, none of the commanders on the day of Yarmouk led their own army that was sent by Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him; rather, each of the four commanders led a quarter of the unified army under the command of Khalid ibn al-Walid."
There was then a victory that was one of the greatest military victories in history, where one hundred thirty thousand of the Romans were killed, and the remaining scattered in the valleys and hills. Three thousand Muslims were martyred, and the lands of the Levant became a home for Islam until the end of time by God's command. Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.
Moreover, Khalid's speech addressed to the commanders of armies in that time is still applicable to the princes in this time. If he were to be resurrected today and witness the condition of the faction leaders in Syria, he would not address them in any other manner.
O leaders, be mindful of God! This is a day among the days of God, where oppression and arrogance should not prevail. Purify your struggle and your work for the sake of God, and do not fight the Assad regime and its allies while you are scattered and divided. This is neither permissible nor rational in any faith or belief. Your division is more harmful to the people of Syria than the calamity that has beset them, and it serves the regime more than numbers and weapons do. The world has divided you, and each of you has been separated into factions. Your allegiance to one prince does not diminish the ranks of another, nor does it increase your own standing. The leadership of some of you over others does not detract from your standing before God, so come together and unify your forces and strengthen your ranks. Your enemies have prepared and united for a day that has no equivalent. If you overcome them today, you will remain victorious, but if you are defeated, you will never succeed again, by God’s decree.
This letter is addressed to you by Khalid ibn al-Walid from behind the veil of the centuries. So where are the listeners? And where are the responders?

On The First Anniversary, Kuwait Shines Under Sheikh Meshal’s Leadership
Monday marked the first anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s proclamation as the Amir of Kuwait. On December 16, 2023, following the passing of the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Cabinet announced Sheikh Meshal’s appointment as Amir in accordance with the Constitution and Article 4 of the Succession Law. Sheikh Meshal formally took the constitutional oath on December 20, 2023, becoming Kuwait’s 17th Amir.
Career of leadership and service
Born in 1940, Sheikh Meshal is the seventh son of the late Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s 10th ruler. He was educated from an early age within the House of Al-Sabah, where his family played a pivotal role in shaping his early education. His parents and other senior family members took part in teaching him the basics of reading and writing before he went on to attend Al-Mubarakiya School, Kuwait’s first school. This strong foundation in education, fostered by his family’s guidance, set the stage for his future achievements.
Sheikh Meshal continued his studies in the United Kingdom, where he graduated from Hendon Police College in 1960. Upon returning to Kuwait, he joined the newly-established Ministry of the Interior, rising through the ranks and becoming a key figure in developing Kuwait’s security infrastructure. In 1987, he was appointed to the Public Inspection Department, where he served in various leadership roles for nearly 20 years.
In 2004, Sheikh Meshal was appointed Deputy Chief of the National Guard, overseeing major reforms to enhance Kuwait’s national security. In 2020, he was appointed Crown Prince, and on December 16, 2023, he succeeded Sheikh Nawaf as Amir.
Key achievements
Over the past year, Sheikh Meshal’s leadership has focused on both domestic development and regional cooperation. In May 2024, Sheikh Meshal made the historic decision to dissolve parliament and temporarily suspend certain articles of the constitution to reassess the country’s democratic process. Locally, he has championed several initiatives, including the inauguration of Abdullah Al-Salem University and Sabah Al-Salem University City. He also attended several award ceremonies, honoring researchers and teachers, including the KFAS awards ceremony held in December.
In his efforts to strengthen regional ties, Sheikh Meshal has led official visits to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE. His advocacy for regional unity is also reflected in his support for the Palestinian cause and his commitment to protecting Arab sovereignty.
Sheikh Meshal’s international diplomacy has been marked by visits to Turkey, where he signed six agreements, and meetings with global leaders such as UN Secretary-General António Guterres and European Council President Charles Michel. These visits underscore his efforts to promote Kuwait’s global presence and work towards peaceful resolutions to international issues.
As Kuwait celebrates His Highness Sheikh Meshal’s first anniversary as Amir, the nation remains on a path of growth and development. His Highness’s leadership has ensured that Kuwait continues to thrive regionally and internationally, building on the legacy of past rulers while shaping a prosperous future for the people of Kuwait. — KUNA
