  • Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reports that the Israeli occupation army has failed to achieve its war goals on the Gaza Strip, despite entering its fourth month.
  • The war cost has risen to about 217 billion shekels ($59.35 billion), including the army’s combat budget and economic aid.
  • The cost of the Israeli army's combat day last October amounted to one billion shekels ($270.35 million).
  • Due to mass demobilization of tens of thousands of soldiers, the cost currently amounts to 600 million shekels ($164.11 million) per day.
  • Israel continues to pay 300 shekels ($82) daily until the end of 2024 for each reservist soldier recruited, reaching about 9 billion shekels ($2.46 billion).
  • Civil damages at the civil level amount to tens of billions of shekels, with the state expected to pay companies affected by the activity cycles in the first three months of this year about 10 billion shekels ($2.74 billion).
  • The report highlights the diminishing global support for Israel and the exploitation of this by China and Russia.
  • The Hamas attack on October 7 has affected the personal security of Israeli residents, leading to numerous applications for weapons licenses.

According to Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the Israeli army has been fighting a war in the Gaza Strip for the past four months. But they haven't been able to achieve their goals yet, and it's costing them a lot!

The Cost of the War

So, how much money are we talking about here? Well, the war has already cost Israel around 217 billion shekels, which is about 59.35 billion dollars! That's a huge amount of money, right? This includes the army's combat budget and the help they've been giving to the economy in different areas.

In October, the Israeli army spent about one billion shekels, which is around 270.35 million dollars, just for one day of combat. They even called up 360,000 reserve soldiers at the beginning of the war! But now, since many soldiers have been sent back home, the cost is about 600 million shekels, which is around 164.11 million dollars, per day.

And get this, Israel has been paying 300 shekels, which is about 82 dollars, every day until 2024 for each reserve soldier they recruited. So far, they've already paid about 9 billion shekels, which is around 2.46 billion dollars, just for these payments!

Civil Damages

But wait, there's more! The war has also caused a lot of damage to buildings and companies. The state of Israel is expected to pay about 10 billion shekels, which is around 2.74 billion dollars, to the companies that have been affected by the war in the first three months of this year.

Estimates show that the damage to buildings in the border settlements with Lebanon is between 5 and 7 billion shekels, which is around 1.37-1.91 billion dollars. And in the Gaza envelope area, the initial value of the damage to buildings is between 15 and 20 billion shekels, which is around 4.10 and 5.47 billion dollars. That's a lot of money!

Damage to Israel's Image

Not only is Israel facing financial losses, but their image in the world is also getting worse. The longer the war continues, the less support they're getting from other countries. Some organizations and people who support the Palestinian cause have been spreading hate towards Israel and Jews on social media.

China and Russia are taking advantage of this situation to weaken the West. Russia, in particular, is happy because people are not talking about their problems with Ukraine anymore. Instead, they're talking about the lawsuit that South Africa filed against Israel in The Hague, accusing them of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Personal Security Concerns

Lastly, the report mentions that the attack carried out by Hamas on October 7 has affected the personal security of the people living in Israel. Many people are now applying for weapons licenses to protect themselves. The National Security Minister even made it easier for people to get these licenses after the attack.
