Trading on the Moscow Exchange will remain closed Thursday.

In a written statement, the exchange said transactions will not continue due to the "current situation."

Trading on Russia's benchmark stock index, the MOEX, was suspended until further notice after plummeting a whopping 33.3% on Feb. 24 when Russia launched a war on Ukraine.

The MOEX nosedived 35% in February compared to the previous month./aa
