Turkey’s manufacturing and export sectors have grown despite the unfavorable conditions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the country’s president said on Thursday.
Turkey has managed to recover from losses incurred due to the pandemic at a time when the world’s largest economies are facing tough times, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at an event dedicated to Turkish philosopher Ahi Evran held in the central Kirsehir province.
He singled out the rate of capacity use of the Turkish manufacturing sector and the country’s booming exports as indicators of positive growth.
Erdogan underlined the importance of small-business owners and artisans in Turkish culture and economy, saying that his government mobilized all possible means to support them during the pandemic.
On inflation in Turkey, he said a series of measures will soon be introduced to bring the situation under control./aa
