Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 4.1% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,016,521 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,398 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 34,913 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,022,036 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 4% decrease from Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 42.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.5% while lignite plants comprised 12.4%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,532 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,094 megawatt-hours./aa
