IICO assists Syrian women refugees in Turkey through 67 developmental projects.

As part of its efforts aimed at economic empowerment of those in need, achieving economic sustainability, and enhancing self-reliance, the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO)  succeeded in implementing the "Karimat Sustainability Passion" project, aimed at empowering Syrian refugees in Turkey to enter the labor market by providing specialized training programs and supporting small projects that contribute to improving their living conditions.

The project included training beneficiaries in three main areas: dairy product production, mobile phone maintenance, and resin production. After completing the training programs, the beneficiaries launched 67 developmental projects, contributing to improving the income level of 300 refugee families, with a total cost of 106,028 USD.

The project relied on a comprehensive training approach. Participants received intensive training over several months and gained technical and managerial skills, contributing to the beneficiaries' economic sustainability. Pre- and post-tests showed significant improvement in their knowledge and skills.

They were also provided with the necessary tools and equipment to start their own projects. In addition, courses in management and e-marketing were offered to ensure the sustainability of the projects and the beneficiaries' ability to develop their products and reach the markets.

The project succeeded in enhancing the ability of refugee women to become self-reliant by equipping them with professional skills that enable them to manage their own projects and achieve financial independence. It also worked on improving the economic and social levels of the beneficiary families by providing sustainable income sources that help transition the beneficiaries from a state of poverty and need to production and sufficiency, thereby enhancing their family and community stability.

The project has had a tangible impact on the lives of the beneficiaries, transforming them into small businesswomen who possess the skills and knowledge necessary to manage their own projects. It also led to the creation of job opportunities within the host communities and increased the supply of local products and services, thus supporting the local economy.

The International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO)   confirmed that this project is part of its strategy to achieve economic empowerment for the most needy groups and to enhance their ability to be self-reliant, emphasizing that empowering refugee women is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development within host communities.

He pointed out that this humanitarian initiative embodies Namaa charity's message in alleviating the suffering of our brothers in Gaza, standing by them during the month of mercy and forgiveness, where hot Iftar meals are prepared and distributed daily to impacted families, in a scene that reflects the spirit of Islamic solidarity and genuine brotherhood.

Al-Otaibi also emphasized that the State of Kuwait, both leadership and people, has been and will always remain at the forefront of countries supporting humanitarian efforts in Palestine, thanks to the guidance of His Highness the Amir of the State, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Hamad Al-Sabah, who have made humanitarian work a steadfast approach for Kuwait in supporting afflicted brothers.

He explained that the situation in Gaza is tragic by all standards, as hundreds of families are living without shelter and suffering from a lack of food and drinking water. Nevertheless, Kuwait's charitable efforts remain a shining beacon that helps dispel some of this darkness. He praised the leading humanitarian role played by the State of Kuwait, stating that what Kuwait offers to Palestine is not just transient support, but rather a moral and humanitarian commitment, and a message of loyalty to a people still struggling for their right to life and dignity.
