Winners of the Great Kuwait Competition for Memorization and Tajweed of the Holy Quran Announced
Exciting news from Kuwait! The winners of the 26th Great Kuwait Competition for Memorization and Recitation of the Holy Qur’an have been announced. This competition is all about memorizing and reciting the Quran, and it's a big deal in Kuwait. The competition was held under the patronage of His Highness the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad. Cool, right?
The Acting Secretary General of the Endowments Secretariat, Nasser Al-Hamad, gave a speech on behalf of the Minister of Information and Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi. He said that Kuwait has become famous all over the world for its love and dedication to the Quran. People of all ages and backgrounds participated in the competition, and the political leaders of Kuwait showed their support and sponsorship for this event. How awesome is that?
Over 40 thousand Competitors in 25 Years
This year, there were 2,604 boys and girls who took part in the competition. Out of those, 2,077 were tested. That's a big number! And guess what? There were even participants with special needs and winners from correctional institutions and juveniles. Everyone had a chance to show their skills and love for the Quran.
Out of all the participants, 241 winners were chosen in different categories. That's a lot of winners! And 13 of them achieved a perfect score. That's amazing! They must have worked really hard.
There were also different organizations that won shields for their great work in promoting the Quran. The Al Maher Society for the Holy Qur’an and its Sciences won the General Excellence Shield, the Bayader Al Salam Charitable Association won the golden shield, the Distinguished Charitable Society for serving the Qur’an and Sharia Sciences won the silver shield, the Tarteel Society for the Holy Qur’an and its Sciences won the bronze shield, and the family of Muhammad Nahis Al-Anazi won the Qur’anic Family Shield. Congrats to all the winners!
Relief Aid for Sudanese Refugees in Chad
Namaa Charity of the Social Reform Society is doing some amazing work to help Sudanese refugees in Chad. These refugees had to leave their country because of violence, and they are facing a lot of difficulties in Chad.
Namaa Charity, along with local and international partners, distributed relief aid to the refugees. They provided medical help, like eye and internal medicine, and gave out food baskets to those in need. They even made sure that children who were suffering from malnutrition got proper meals. That's really kind of them!
But they didn't stop there. Namaa Charity also dug an artesian well in Chad to provide clean water to the people. They distributed 200 food baskets to support more than 1,000 people. That's a lot of help!
Support for Al-Furqan Circles in Bilad Al-Khair
Hey, guess what? The General Secretariat of Endowments is supporting the Al-Furqan circles in Bilad Al-Khair. These circles are all about the Quran, and they help students learn and memorize it. How cool is that?
The Balad Al-Khair Society, with the support of the General Secretariat of Endowments, is sponsoring these circles and their teachers. They also organize Quran competitions and honor those who have memorized the Quran. It's great to see such support for learning and preserving the Quran.
The Gulf Railway Project
Hey, have you heard about the Gulf Railway Project? It's a big deal! The Ministers of Transport and Communications in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries have announced the timetable for this project. It's going to be ready by 2030. That's not too far away!
The Gulf Railway Project is all about connecting the Gulf countries with a railway track. This will be another way for people to travel and transport goods, besides airplanes and ships. The track will be about 2,117 kilometers long, connecting Kuwait City with all the other Gulf countries and reaching Muscat, the capital of Oman. That's a long track!
Passenger trains will be super fast, reaching about 220 kilometers per hour. And freight trains will be a bit slower, going at around 120 kilometers per hour. The whole project will cost about $15.4 billion. That's a lot of money, but it will be worth it!
