Resonance Consultancy, a leading global consultancy in the tourism, real estate and economic development sectors, is based on the idea of ​​the index on the comparison between megacities with more than one million inhabitants around theworld, using a set of criteria of statistical performance and quantitative assessments by residents of each A city as well as its visitors, in 24 comparison criteria grouped into 6 main categories. Each city’s ranking on the general index is determined based on its average rankings in these six categories.

In the “place” category, Kuwait ranked 71 globally, in terms of population diversity 39 globally, in promotion 48, and in prosperity 23 globally, and in the “outcome” category, which measures the main institutions, tourist attractions and infrastructure of the city, Kuwait ranked 197 globally.

In the “programming” category, which measures food, cultural and artistic performances, shopping and nightlife, Kuwait ranked very late, as it ranked 248th globally.

On the other hand, the Foundation stated that Kuwait is the fourth largest attractor of foreign-born foreigners, a factor that reflects its population diversity, but on the other hand, it recorded a low level of education among citizens and ranked 229.

She added that Kuwait’s ranking of 17th in terms of the opportunities it offers to expatriates reflects its global appeal, but excessive inequality (261) undermines its impressive ranking in the global GDP per capita category at 3rd, while Kuwait ranked 9th with unemployment.

The company indicated that, like many of its surrounding areas, Kuwait suffered greatly from the Covid-19 pandemic, and its financial crisis was exacerbated by the drop in oil prices in the world.

Regionally, Dubai ranked as the best city and ranked fifth globally, followed by Doha in 12th, Abu Dhabi 14th, and Riyadh at 55th globally.
