Many children and young people tend to memorize the Holy Qur’an during the summer vacation, amidst hopes from parents that their children will memorize and recite the Book of Allah, so that they will attain with it the great status and the great reward for memorizing the Great Holy Qur’an.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "One who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told to recite, ascend, and recite carefully as he recited carefully when he was in the world, for he will reach his abode when he comes to the last verse he recites." Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani)

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur'an will be with the honourable and obedient scribes (angels) and he who recites the Qur'an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have two rewards." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "Read the Qur'an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection." [Muslim].
