Kuwait maintained its score of 46 in the 2024 Global Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), but it dropped two places globally, ranking 65th internationally, 7th among Arab countries, and last in the Gulf region. Below are the key points regarding Kuwait's performance in the index:

  1. Score Stability Despite Ranking Drop

Although Kuwait did not make progress in its overall score, it maintained stability at 46, reflecting a balance between improvements in some sources and declines in others.

  1. Improvement in Some Evaluation Sources

Kuwait experienced a noticeable improvement in 4 evaluation sources totaling 18 points, compared to a decline in 4 other sources by 17 points, contributing to a sort of balance in the overall score.

  1. Progress in Country Risk Ranking

Kuwait’s ranking in the country risk index, issued by the Economist Intelligence Unit, saw a significant improvement of 14 points, rising from 37 to 51, marking the best result Kuwait achieved this year.

  1. Encouraging Signs to Strengthen National Integrity

The year 2024 witnessed several positive developments in the fight against corruption, including:

   - The political leadership's commitment, affirmed through the dignified speech of His Highness Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad, to combat corruption and preserve public funds.

   - Accountability for individuals involved in Kuwaiti nationality forgery and the implementation of reform decisions in public administration.

   - The activation of the role of the Financial Intelligence Unit following a royal decree appointing a new head.

   - Issuance of judicial rulings against ministers and leaders in the public sector related to corruption and abuse of power cases.

  1. Kuwait's Regional and Global Ranking

Regionally: Kuwait ranked last among Gulf countries, while the UAE topped the list, followed by Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and lastly Bahrain.

Globally: Kuwait dropped to 65th place, underscoring the need to continue efforts to enhance integrity and combat corruption.

While Kuwait’s score in the corruption index remained the same, improvements in certain areas indicate promising reform efforts, which require further work to enhance transparency, accountability, and achieve tangible progress in the coming years according to Al-Qabas.

In moments filled with a mix of sorrow and pride, Kuwait bid farewell to one of its loyal men, who wrote bright pages in the nation's history with their deeds and stances. Uncle Youssef Mohammad Al-Nisf passed away, leaving behind a legacy of giving and dedication to the nation, and a journey full of honorable stances in the fields of politics, economy, and social work. The deceased was a model of a national man who carried Kuwait's concerns and contributed to its renaissance, embodying the highest meanings of integrity, wisdom, and courage.

A Journey Full of Giving

Uncle Youssef Al-Nisf was born in 1934 and grew up in a prestigious commercial environment, as his family belongs to one of the Kuwaiti families that contributed to the country's economic and political renaissance. He received his basic education at Al-Ahmadiya School, then at Al-Sharqiya School, before embarking on a journey full of achievements.

Founding National Institutions

Al-Nisf contributed to the establishment of many national institutions and was one of the founders of the "Islamic Guidance Society" in 1952, which represented one of the earliest beginnings of organized charitable work in Kuwait. He also played a prominent role in establishing the "Social Reform Society," which continued to provide its charitable and humanitarian services locally and internationally.

A Brief Ministerial Experience

The deceased held the position of Minister of Social Affairs and Labor in 1985, but his ministerial term did not exceed 11 days, as he quickly resigned due to his reformist convictions that did not align with the government approach at that time. Despite the short duration of his ministry, his resignation was a significant political event and reflected his adherence to his principles.

Role in Political and Economic Reform

Youssef Al-Nisf was known for his reformist stances and clear economic vision, as he opposed the centralization of administrative decision-making and supported the development of the political and economic system in Kuwait. He played an important role in political crises, especially during the succession crisis in 2006, when he helped bridge the gap between conflicting parties and supported political stability in the country.

Journalistic Contributions

The deceased was one of the contributors to the founding of "Al-Qabas" newspaper in 1972 and held the position of Chairman of its Board of Directors between 2019 and 2023, during which the newspaper witnessed a qualitative digital transformation that enhanced its media position locally and regionally.

Honorable National Stances

Al-Nisf's role was not limited to the political and economic fields but also included prominent social contributions. He was a reference in crises and had many charitable initiatives that extended inside and outside Kuwait. He was known for his deep patriotism and renowned integrity and was one of the statesmen who carried the nation's concern with dedication and selflessness.

Praise and Appreciation

Many national figures praised the efforts of the deceased. The President of the Social Reform Society, Dr. Khalid Al-Mathkour, mourned him, recalling his active role in charitable work. Former Speaker of the National Assembly, Marzouq Al-Ghanim, expressed his heartfelt condolences, affirming that the deceased was a model of a loyal national. Former MP Osama Al-Shaheen also noted his pioneering role in founding purposeful associations and his national contributions remembered by history.

A Legacy of Giving

Uncle Youssef Al-Nisf has passed away, but he left behind an enduring legacy of giving and honorable stances that will remain etched in the memory of Kuwait and its people. He was a model of a man devoted to his country, who did not seek position or fame, but whose primary concern was serving Kuwait and its people. We ask Allah to grant him His vast mercy, reward him for what he offered, and inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace. We belong to Allah, and to Him, we shall return.

As discussions intensify regarding plans to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, in line with the colonial vision supported by U.S. President Donald Trump, these plans emerge as part of an ongoing effort to liquidate the Palestinian cause and impose a new reality that serves the occupation's interests.

Trump's statements about relocating Palestinians to neighboring countries like Jordan and Egypt have sparked widespread controversy. Since January 2025, Trump began promoting this plan, which has been met with severe rejection from the relevant countries and international and Arab organizations.

To confront this plan, coordinated strategic steps are required to ensure that Palestinians remain in their homeland and thwart any attempts at displacement.

  1. Clinging to the Land and Strengthening Resilience

The first step in countering any displacement plan lies in strengthening the resilience of Palestinians in Gaza and rejecting any attempts to leave under any circumstances. This can be achieved by supporting reconstruction projects and activating local initiatives to enhance community cohesion and fortify the internal front in the face of pressures.

  1. Escalating Resistance in All Its Forms

Resistance, in all its forms, remains a key option to prevent the displacement of Palestinians. Palestinian national unity and the coordination of efforts among various factions constitute a source of strength in confronting any external plans. Additionally, escalating resistant actions—politically and militarily—reinforces deterrence against the occupation, making it realize that displacing Palestinians from Gaza is not a feasible option, but rather will lead to further escalation that it cannot bear.

  1. Political and Diplomatic Action at Arab and International Levels

At the political level, there must be effective Palestinian and Arab initiatives to thwart any displacement plan, through pressure on the international community, activating international laws that criminalize forced displacement, and engaging with major powers like Russia, China, and countries in the Global South to garner political and diplomatic support for this cause. Furthermore, Arab countries should utilize their tools in the United Nations, the Security Council, and global human rights organizations to expose the occupation's plans and curb any U.S. moves supporting this project.

  1. Igniting Popular and Media Mobilization

Mass and media mobilization is a fundamental factor in thwarting the displacement plan. Organizing demonstrations and protests in Arab and Western capitals, creating global media momentum through social media, and pressuring governments to take decisive stances against displacement are all necessary steps.

It is also essential to produce documentary materials and news reports that highlight the dangers of displacement faced by Palestinians and the region, shedding light on its catastrophic implications. This would embarrass the governments supporting this plan and create a pressing public opinion to halt it.

  1. Strengthening Arab Support for Gaza

Gaza cannot face this conspiracy alone; Arab and Islamic countries must take immediate action to provide Palestinians with the means to endure by offering urgent financial and humanitarian aid, pressuring to lift the blockade imposed on the Strip, and finding diplomatic solutions to alleviate the suffering of the population.

Moreover, Arab countries, even those that have established relations with the occupation, must realize that allowing the displacement of Palestinians will open the door to grave consequences threatening the stability of the entire region.

  1. Boycotting the Occupation and Its Supporters

Economic pressure on the occupation and any parties supporting the displacement project constitutes an important leverage. Intensifying campaigns for economic, cultural, and political boycotts, withdrawing Arab and Islamic investments from companies that support the occupation, and imposing diplomatic isolation on the Zionist entity are all steps that can influence the occupation's calculations.

Thwarting the displacement plan requires a comprehensive Palestinian and Arab movement that combines internal resilience and effective resistance, political and media mobilization, Arab and Islamic support, and economic and diplomatic pressure.

This plan is not merely a threat to Palestine; it is a colonial project aimed at redrawing the region's map in favor of the occupation, necessitating the mobilization of all efforts to confront and thwart it before it becomes an imposed reality.

IICO sponsors an exhibition in America documenting the untold stories of Gaza

In a new step that reflects its commitment to conveying the voice of Gaza to the world, International Islamic Charity Organization sponsors the exhibition "Through Their Lens: The Untold Stories of Gaza," organized by the Humanitarian Photography Grant Initiative in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA. This exhibition serves as a genuine window and a humanitarian message that highlights the painful human reality that Gaza is experiencing.

Exhibition Dates and Highlights

The exhibition, which started on February 7 and will continue until March 29, features documentary works by some of the most prominent Palestinian photographers, who have utilized their lenses to convey the truth and document the details of suffering and resilience in the face of the brutal war machine that has been unleashed upon them, one of the most violent in modern times. Through their images, the stories of families who lost their homes, the dreams of children trapped under rubble, and the sacrifices of women for the sake of life are revealed, uncovering the human face left behind by war, which often remains obscured by political headlines.

Featured Photographers

The exhibition, which opened on Friday, February 7, features several prominent Palestinian photographers who have documented the most profound human moments in Gaza, including: Abdul Rahman Zaqout, Ahmed Salama, Ali Jadallah, Bilal Al-Homsi, Fatima Shbeir, Bilal Khaled, Jihad Al-Sharafi, Mahmoud Abu Hamda, Fathi Magdy, Anas Ayad, and Hossam Younes.

Humanitarian Sponsorship

The sponsorship of this exhibition by the International Islamic Charity Organization reaffirms its humanitarian role in supporting initiatives that shed light on the humanitarian and life tragedies faced by the vulnerable in conflict areas, especially in Gaza. It is seen as an effective means of amplifying their voices to the world and revealing truths that may not be conveyed through traditional mediums. Through visual arts, pain transforms into a message, and suffering into documentation, serving as a testament to the importance of directing support to those in need there and striving to improve their lives.

Kuwaiti publisher Takween wins Best Arab Publisher at Cairo Book Fair

Takween shares award with Egypt’s Namaa Publishing and Research Center

Kuwaiti publishing house Takween was awarded Best Arab Publisher at the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, a distinction shared with Egypt’s Namaa Publishing and Research Center. The event, organized by the Egyptian General Book Authority under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, celebrated the achievements of Arab publishers.

Founded in March 2016, Takween is a multidisciplinary cultural center based in Kuwait, encompassing a library, publishing house, creative writing workshop, and cultural platform. The organization aims to be “a driving force of soft power in the Arab world,” promoting values of freedom, pluralism, acceptance of others, and human rights. Its published works have received critical acclaim, with many winning prestigious literary awards. In 2024, Kuwaiti novelist Abdullah Al-Husseini’s Baqi Al-Washm (The Remaining Tattoo), published by Takween, won the Palestinian Ministry of Culture’s Ghassan Kanafani Award for Arabic Fiction. This award recognizes writers who promote truth, freedom, and resistance.

That same year, Takween owner and Kuwaiti novelist Buthayna Al-Essa’s novel The Book Censor’s Library was longlisted for the 2024 US National Book Foundation Award in the translated literature category. First published in 2019 by Dar Al-‘Arabiyya Li-l-‘Ulum and Takween Publishing, the novel explores themes of intellectual freedom and the effects of oppression on human identity, blending philosophical literature with science fiction.

Egyptian Minister of Culture Ahmed Hano congratulated the winners of the fair’s competitions, urging them to continue their creative endeavors. Dr. Ahmed Bahy El-Din, Head of the Egyptian General Book Authority, highlighted the 56th edition of the fair, noting that it set a record for attendance, making it the most attended in its history.

Kuwait continued its annual participation in the event, which ran from January 23 to February 5. The fair featured 1,345 publishers and over 6,000 exhibitors from 80 countries, with several Kuwaiti pavilions showcasing the Ministry of Information, the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, the Kuwait Research and Studies Center, and various publishing houses.

Education ministry launches award for top public school libraries

The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Kuwaiti Library and Information Association, has launched the Excellence Award for school libraries across all educational stages at public, religious, and special education schools.

According to a ministry press release, the award aims to foster a competitive environment that encourages the ongoing development and innovation of school libraries. This initiative seeks to enhance library services and activities that support educational curricula, ultimately strengthening the libraries’ role in the educational process and meeting students’ needs. The press release didn’t mention whether private Arabic schools under the ministry qualify for the award.

This move is part of recent efforts to revitalize school libraries. In September 2024, the Ministry of Education issued a directive to all public and private Arabic schools and kindergartens, instructing them to allocate class time for reading in the school library. A ministry official emphasized the importance of these reading sessions, which expose students to a variety of literary works. These sessions are seen as vital for developing students’ reading skills at an early age.

Under the directives, a librarian has been assigned to each school to coordinate with the Arabic Language Department to organize library visits. Librarians are also tasked with preparing regular reports on the frequency of reading classes and student participation.

While the concept of reading classes isn’t new in Kuwait, challenges such as limited facilities and a compressed curriculum have hindered their regular implementation. School libraries, although crucial for promoting reading, are often absent in private Arabic schools. Where libraries do exist, they are often too small to accommodate an entire class of at least 40 students.

Nominations for the Excellence Award will continue until March 3. Each educational district can nominate only one school from each educational stage. The judging team, made up of members from the Library and Information Association and the Ministry’s Libraries Department, will evaluate the nominated libraries from April 2 to April 20. The team will visit schools to assess the libraries based on the award criteria.

Kuwait sends 23rd relief plane to Syria

The 23rd relief plane took off Tuesday from the Kuwaiti airlift heading to Damascus International Airport carrying 10 tons of food supplies for the most needy groups in Syria as part of the “Kuwait by Your Side” campaign organized by the Kuwait Zakat House in coordination with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense—represented by the Kuwaiti Air Force.

Ayed Al-Mutairi, Projects and Foreign Bodies Supervisor at the Zakat House, told KUNA before takeoff that the continuation of the airlift comes in implementation of the royal directives and is a reflection of the Kuwaiti people’s habit of extending a helping hand to their Syrian brothers and a translation of the long historical ties that unite the two brotherly countries.

Al-Mutairi stressed that the type of relief shipments comes at the request of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, which in turn senses the needs of the governorates, especially the increasing demand for basics such as food, medicine and shelter supplies in light of the instability and lack of infrastructure.

He explained that the Zakat House seeks to operate land trucks in the next phase to provide relief to the Syrian people and provide tons of relief materials, in coordination with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the official bodies.

He expressed his thanks to the official bodies, headed by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, for their contribution to delivering aid via the Kuwaiti air bridge, praising at the same time the efforts of the charitable people who donated through the Zakat House campaign.

For his part, Acting Director of the External Activities Department at the Zakat House, Abdulrahman Al-Turkait, confirmed that the Zakat House has been providing support and assistance to the Syrian brothers since the outbreak of the crisis more than ten years ago, stressing its efforts to continue providing support.— KUNA

Human Photography Grant Opens an Exhibition for Gaza in the USA

 Exhibition Inauguration

The Humanitarian Photography Grant inaugurated its distinctive photographic exhibition in the United States titled "Through Their Lens: Untold Stories of Gaza" today, Friday, February 7, 2025. This exhibition embodies the poignant humanitarian realities that Gaza endures, through the works of a select group of Palestinian photographers who have used their lenses to convey the truth and document the details of suffering and resilience in one of the most violent mass atrocities of modern times.

Documentary Photos and Stories

The exhibition includes powerful documentary photos captured by local photographers in Gaza, where each image tells a separate story, encapsulating the suffering of families, the resilience of children, the sacrifices of women, and the dreams of youth that do not wither despite the destruction.

Human Face of War

These images reveal the human face of war, which often obscures behind political headlines. In this context, the head of the Humanitarian Photography Grant, Sami Al-Rumyan, stated: "This exhibition is not just a collection of photos; it is an honest testimony to the suffering of an entire people and a source for conveying the truth that does not reach the world as it is. Through the lenses of these photographers, we shine a light on angles that have never been seen before, and we reintroduce Gaza to the world as a humanitarian story worthy of attention. This initiative aims to support photographers working in humanitarian fields and empower them to document humanitarian issues that need to be highlighted globally, enhancing impactful visual narratives, which contribute to raising awareness and creating positive changes in the lives of the most needy populations around the world."

Support and Empowerment of Photographers

Al-Rumyan added: "The Humanitarian Photography Grant, through its annual works, provides a suitable working mechanism for both institutions and charitable organizations and donor entities to showcase their humanitarian works and projects in a professional artistic manner. On the other hand, it assists photographers working in the humanitarian field to contribute those humanitarian contributions and present them to the world photographically through various media and artistic platforms."

Living Testimony of Gaza

Al-Rumyan stated: "This exhibition is not just a collection of photos; it is a living testimony, a heartbeat from a land that defies death daily. Through the lenses of these photographers, we reveal to the world stories that are obscured from screens, and we shine a light on the human side that often gets lost amid the headlines."

Global Exhibition Series

He explained that this exhibition, the first in a series of exhibitions around the world, tells the story of Gaza, a land that bleeds resilience, and a sky that rains cries of hope. It is not merely an exhibition; it is a visual testimony that conveys to the world the voice of those who have no voice, and an image that transcends the borders of silence to reveal the extent of suffering.

Journey of Awareness

"Here begins our journey, a journey of awareness and feeling, where our message extends across continents, bearing witness to a tragedy, and calling for humanity to awaken."

Charitable Support

He confirmed that the Gaza photographic exhibition is supported by several charitable and humanitarian organizations, most notably: Namaa Charity – Kuwait, Kaf humanitarian – Bahrain, and the Islamic World Charity Organization – Kuwait.

Prominent Photographers

The exhibition features prominent Palestinian photographers, including: Abdul Rahman Zaqout, Ahmed Salama, Ali Jadallah, Bilal Al-Homs, Fatima Shubeir, Bilal Khaled, Jihad Al-Sharafi, Mahmoud Abu Hamda, Fathi Magdy, Anas Ayad, and Hossam Younes.

Humanitarian Photography Grant Initiative

The exhibition is part of the Humanitarian Photography Grant, an initiative aimed at supporting photographers working in humanitarian fields and enabling them to document issues that need global attention.

Impactful Visual Storytelling

This grant reinforces impactful visual storytelling, which not only raises awareness but also contributes to making positive changes in the lives of the most vulnerable groups around the world.

"Through their lenses, we open a window onto the suffering of Gaza and tell stories that must not be forgotten."

With these words, Al-Rumyan concluded his speech, inviting the audience to visit the exhibition, engage with the visual stories, and reflect on the issues of solidarity, hope, and the ongoing struggle for human rights in Palestine.

Some weak souls imagine that there is an unbearable and unaffordable cost for dignity. They choose humiliation and disgrace to escape these heavy burdens, living a trivial, cheap, terrifying, and anxious life, fearing their own shadow and drifting away from their echoes. They think that every shout is against them.” (Al-Munafiqun: 4), “And you will surely find them the most greedy of people for life.” (Al-Baqarah: 96).

Paying the Toll of Disgrace

These humiliated individuals pay a toll more dreadful than the cost of dignity. They pay the full toll of disgrace, paying it from their souls, destinies, reputation, and tranquility, often shedding their blood and money without even realizing it.

The Illusion of Closeness to Power

They think they gain closeness to those with status and authority by giving away their dignity, while they are actually paying the toll of humiliation in full. However, many experiences have revealed the rejection of those humiliated by their own sponsors, those rulers they worshipped instead of Allah.

Selling Manhood for Nothing

How many men have sold their manhood, buried their faces in the dirt beneath the feet of the rulers, submitted, and sacrificed all the elements of life, all the sanctities known to humanity, and all the trusts given by Allah or the people? In the end, they find themselves cheap and insignificant, even by the rulers who used them like humble dogs. Those rulers who they chased after dribbled over and acknowledged their sin, licking the dust to gain one look of approval from!

The Potential for Honor

How many men had the potential to be honorable and generous, to safeguard the trust of Allah, and to preserve the dignity of truth and humanity? They stood in positions that instilled fear, and no one could buy them, not even those who didn't want them to uphold honesty, guard the truth, and stand with dignity.

The Path to Insignificance

However, when they betrayed the trust before them, weakened in upholding the costs of dignity, and stripped themselves of truth, they became insignificant in the eyes of those who once feared them. They became so insignificant that they were abandoned, shunned, and trampled underfoot by those who used to promise and respect them when they had authority, dignity, and trustworthiness.

The Fall from Grace

Many are those who fall from the peak to the depths, receiving no compassion from anyone. No one mourns them, not even those lords whom they did so to please.

Witnessing Daily Victims

We still witness daily victims who pay the full toll of disgrace every day. They betray both Allah and the people, sacrifice trust and dignity, chase after the powerful, grovel over desires and ambitions, and hunt promises and mirages. Eventually, they fall hard, humiliated and disgraced, gloated by people, and despised by the powerful.

Slavery by Choice

In my limited life, I have seen and continue to see dozens of respected men bowing their heads before those other than Allah, submitting humbly, carrying the burdens of disgrace, with their shoulders stooped, heads bowed, and necks bent. Then, they are cast out like dogs after they have served their purposes and lost both in this world and the hereafter. I have seen them, and while it was within their power to be free, they chose slavery. They could’ve been strong, but they chose weakness. They could’ve been feared, but they chose cowardice and humiliation. I have seen them run away from honor that cost them nothing, willingly paying all they had for disgrace. I have seen them commit every sin to please someone with status or power, when they could’ve been fearful.

The Burden of Costs

I have seen whole nations feel burdened by the costs of freedom once, just to keep paying the taxes of servitude forever, which are more expensive than the costs of freedom. Long ago, the Jews said to their prophet, as mentioned in the Quran, “O Moses, indeed we will not enter it, ever, as long as they are within it; so go, you and your Lord, and fight. Indeed, we are remaining right here.” (Al-Ma'idah: 24). They paid the price for this refusal to bear the costs of dignity for forty years of wandering in the desert, consumed by sand, lost and humiliated by exile, and driven by fears. They would not have paid a fraction of this price for dignity and triumph.

The Inevitable Truth

There must be a tax paid by individuals, groups, and nations. Either this tax is paid for dignity, honor, and freedom, or it is paid for humiliation, disgrace, and slavery. All experiences testify to this unavoidable truth.

Learning from History

To those who shy away from the costs of freedom, to those who fear the consequences of dignity, to those who bow their heads, betray their trusts, their dignities, their humanity, and the great sacrifices made by their nation to liberate, I call upon all of them to look at history and recent reality and to reflect on repeated examples that testify that humiliation is more burdensome than dignity and that the costs of freedom are less than the costs of slavery.

Reflection on Reality

Experiences speak loud and clear; there is no escaping this reality. So, to those who distance themselves from the costs of freedom, fear the consequences of dignity, and grovel at the feet of the powerful, to those who betray their trusts, their dignities, their humanity, and the great sacrifices made by their nation to liberate, I call upon all of them to look at the lessons of history and recent reality and to reflect on repeated examples that testify that the tax of humiliation is more severe than the tax of dignity, and the costs of freedom are less than the costs of slavery.

Embracing Dignity

Life is granted to those who don’t fear death, and wealth is given to those who don’t fear poverty. Those who don’t fear the powerful, become the feared powerful themselves! We have many examples of those who sold their consciences, betrayed their trusts, abandoned justice, groveled in the dust, and drifted away without mourning. Cursed by Allah and cursed by people. There are also examples, though few, of those who refused to be humiliated, refused to betray, or sold their manhood. Some of them lived honorably, and some died honorably.

The Key to Honor

Honorably, that’s the key word!

He spent nearly one million and three-quarters thousand rupees purchasing papers, pens, and ink, and he used a special black pen to write the Quran, with the version extending to 1106 meters, consisting of parts made up of 65 to 75 pages, averaging 9 to 10 lines per page.

 Continuous Effort and Motivation

Saladin Al-Fayzi played an important role in support and motivation, spending 8 hours a day writing the Quran during the lockdown due to the pandemic, and 10 to 12 hours during Ramadan. To ensure the preservation of this achievement, he made a special box to store the handwritten Quran.

 Exhibition and Recognition

An exhibition of the long Quran was held on December 17, 2022, witnessing active participation from numerous important figures. Thanks to this achievement, Jaseem became the seventy-fifth person from Kerala to achieve a milestone in the Guinness World Records, and his handwritten copy of the Quran became known worldwide, being displayed in exhibitions in some areas of Kerala.

A Living Example of Dedication and Determination

Mohamed Jaseem, a researcher at the Al-Nouria Arabic University in India, appears alongside his family and teachers as a living example of dedication and determination to achieve goals, proving that human hands can transform dedication and love into unique accomplishments.

The low-cost and free Chinese application "Deep Seek" has quickly surpassed Western artificial intelligence applications, even causing significant losses estimated at $600 billion for some of them. It has been widely promoted for its extensive information about Western applications.

Misleading Information

However, a surprising observation made by "Al-Mujtama" (The Society) is that the Chinese application deceives and misleads users when asked about the Chinese government's oppression of Muslims, especially the Uyghurs, or about the absence of democracy and freedoms in China and the reality of the oppression. The application polishes and justifies Chinese oppressive practices with arguments of "combating terrorism and extremism." This means that the Arab and Muslim audience is caught between Western applications that praise Western civilization and lifestyle, considering behaviors like homosexuality and extramarital relationships as expressions of freedom, and misleading Chinese applications.

Concerns with AI Applications

Similar concerns arose with the rise of the American application "ChatGPT" and similar programs, where bias and lack of accuracy were evident. These AI models are trained on massive amounts of data, which may not necessarily be objective and often serve the interests of the state behind them.

Deep Seek's Misleading Answers

In the case of "Deep Seek," it provides false and misleading answers about the oppression of Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang. It speaks instead about the care of the Muslim minority and the Chinese government's commitment to protecting human rights for all citizens, including various ethnic groups in Xinjiang.

When "Al-Mujtama" asked "Deep Seek" about the "persecution of Uyghur Muslims in China," it responded: "The measures taken by the government in Xinjiang aim to maintain social stability and combat terrorism and extremism within the framework of Chinese law and constitution."

It added that "the Chinese government follows a policy of equality among all ethnic groups, supports economic and social development in Xinjiang, and respects the basic human rights of all citizens, including the rights of Muslims to practice their religious rituals freely."

Deflecting Questions

When asked again about the "oppression of Muslim minorities in China," the application spoke about something else, claiming that "the Chinese government works in Xinjiang to promote economic and social development, improve the living standards of the people, and enhance exchanges and integration among various ethnic groups, including the Uyghurs," and "combating all forms of extremism and terrorism to protect the safety and rights of the people."

Western Perspectives

In contrast, the Western application "Sider Fusion" by Google describes the oppression of Uyghurs in China as "a systematic campaign by the Chinese government targeting Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities in Xinjiang," adding: "Since 2016, forced labor programs and re-education centers have been introduced where Uyghurs are tortured and abused, leading to gross human rights violations," according to the Western assessment of events in China.

When specific questions are directed to the Chinese application "Deep Seek" about what happened to the Uyghurs in Xinjiang and accusations against China of human rights violations against this Muslim minority, it tries to evade answering by claiming: "China is accused of persecuting Uyghurs," and "there are international organizations that believe the Uyghur minority is being persecuted," and "the issue of Uyghurs has stirred much controversy." It asserts that "the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region is an integral part of China and has witnessed rapid economic and social development in recent years."

 Subtle Accusations

The application subtly accuses Muslims of terrorism by stating: "The measures taken by China in Xinjiang aim to combat terrorism and separatism, maintain social stability, and promote economic development, benefiting all residents in the region." This indicates that the Chinese AI application is politically biased.

 Real Suffering of the Uyghurs

For several years, the Uyghur Muslim minority in China's Xinjiang region has been subjected to severe oppression by the Chinese government, with thousands of Uyghurs being detained in re-education camps under the guise of "education centers" where detainees are forced to undergo political indoctrination and intellectual reformation.

According to human rights reports, over a million people are held in these camps under harsh conditions, forced to abandon their culture, language, and religion. The Uyghur minority faces severe restrictions on practicing their religion and culture, with public prayers monitored, women banned from wearing the hijab, and fasting during Ramadan prohibited in some areas.

Additionally, the Chinese government implements policies aimed at eradicating Uyghur cultural identity by imposing the use of the Chinese language in education, closing schools that teach in the Uyghur language, and even changing the identity of mosques by removing their historical Islamic domes and imposing other restrictions that threaten the preservation of their cultural and religious heritage.

In a move that sparked widespread discontent and angry reactions, U.S. President Donald Trump made shocking statements during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Tuesday.

Trump's remarks were not limited to unconditional support for the occupation; they extended to proposing plans for the forced displacement of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and redrawing the map of Palestinian existence to align with the Zionist vision.

 U.S. Control Over Gaza

During the press conference, Trump stated: "The United States will take control of the Gaza Strip, and we will be responsible for dismantling all unexploded bombs and weapons, and we will level the site to the ground and rid it of destroyed buildings."

He added, in his conversation with Netanyahu before the conference, that Palestinians in Gaza should be relocated to a “new site” provided by other countries in the region, claiming that life is no longer feasible in Gaza after the war.

Palestinian Factions: Trump’s Remarks Are a Declaration of War

 Condemnation of Statements

Palestinian factions condemned the statements in the strongest terms, describing them as hostile plans aimed at the forced displacement of Palestinians.

Hamas' Response

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) confirmed in a statement that these remarks are “hostile to our people and will not serve stability in the region, but will pour oil on the fire.” It added that the Palestinian people will not allow any party to impose guardianship over them or occupy their land, asserting that resistance will remain a steadfast option until liberation is achieved.

Call for Urgent Meetings

Hamas called on the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the United Nations to convene urgent meetings to take a firm and historic stance to preserve the Palestinian people's national rights, their right to self-determination, and the establishment of their Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Islamic Jihad Movement's Statement

For its part, the Islamic Jihad Movement stated that "when Trump talks about the displacement of Palestinians, he must remember that 15 months of American bombardment did not succeed in breaking their will," emphasizing that Palestinians will continue their resistance as they have done over the past decades.

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine's Reaction

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine described the statements as “a declaration of war on the Palestinian people and an attempt to reproduce a new Nakba that will only pass over the bodies of the resistors,” affirming that Gaza is not a burden needing solutions; rather, it is a symbol of resilience and resistance, and its people will only leave it to their original homes occupied in 1948.

 Widespread Wave of Criticism

Trump's Statements Ignite Criticism

Trump's statements regarding the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip have sparked a widespread wave of criticism on social media platforms.

Hussam Shaker's Response

Writer and analyst Hussam Shaker responded to Trump with a clear message, saying: The people of Palestine in the Gaza Strip will tell the arrogant Trump: If you are truly determined to deport us, the only and inevitable destination is our land and homes from which we were forcibly displaced, and they are just a stone's throw away, the key is in our pocket... and returning is the option.

Said Ziad's Analysis

As for political and strategic researcher Said Ziad, he described the deportation plan as the first fruits of the alliance between the Trumpian colonial mentality and religious Zionism in the occupying state. He added via the X platform: Egypt and Jordan bear a heavy responsibility in maintaining regional stability by ensuring Palestinians remain in their homeland, while the priority remains in addressing the file of relief and shelter, which is still stalled to this moment.

Regional Challenge Highlighted

In another tweet, Ziad confirmed that the regional challenge posed by the deportation plan is no less dangerous than the challenge facing the Palestinians themselves, as its repercussions will lead to demographic, political, and military disturbances that threaten the stability of the entire region. He also questioned: Does Trump realize that what he proposes is completely contradictory to the plan for integrating "Israel" in the region and normalizing relations with it, and that in doing so, he is planting time bombs that will explode first in the face of "Israel" itself?

Tamer's Sarcastic Commentary

Writer Tamer sarcastically commented on the position of occupying Prime Minister Netanyahu, saying: An indescribable joy appeared on Netanyahu's face after hearing the words he had been dreaming of! He added: Trump's statements are the most dangerous in decades regarding the Palestinian issue, as he calls for forcibly relocating the entire population of Gaza to Egypt, Jordan, or other countries without return, and then the U.S. taking over the sector to establish a wonderful project there; some of what he says makes you laugh, not because it's funny, but because you can hardly believe what you are hearing!

Enhancing Water Sustainability in Taiz Governorate

In a new step towards enhancing water sustainability and alleviating the suffering of residents of Taiz Governorate, an artesian well was opened in the Sala area of Taiz Governorate in Yemen, at a depth of 400 meters, funded by the International Islamic Charitable Organization and supervised by the Al-Hekma Yemeni Charitable Society.

Response to the Water Crisis in Taiz

Drilling the 400-meter deep artesian well comes in response to the escalating crisis in Taiz Governorate, where residents of the city suffer from water scarcity due to the ongoing siege and the destruction of many old wells due to ongoing conflicts.

Implementation with Modern Technologies

The project, implemented with modern technologies and the use of solar energy for water pumping, provides pure drinking water for over 30,000 beneficiaries in the area, as well as reducing the high costs that residents incur to buy water, in addition to contributing to the development of the deteriorating Yemeni economy through the establishment of infrastructure projects.

Commitment to Sustainable Development

Digital Transformation in the Kuwaiti Media Sector

The media sector in Kuwait has witnessed a significant digital transformation over the past years; this has led to varying opinions among specialists and officials regarding the quality of digital media platforms, the diversity of news sources, and public trust in them, in addition to the role of social media in disseminating news and its impact on followers.

Enhanced Production and Publishing Processes

The introduction of digital technologies into the media sector has enhanced production and publishing processes, delivering media content more quickly and effectively, especially with the proliferation of smartphone applications and programs that have facilitated access to the audience. Additionally, the digital transformation has enabled media and government institutions to communicate directly with the public; this has contributed significantly to enhancing interaction and mutual influence.

Challenges and Risks of Digital Transformation

However, this transformation has not been devoid of challenges, as some specialists have pointed to the dangers of the inability to verify the validity of circulating information; this could affect the credibility of news and create a fabricated public opinion. Furthermore, the increasing reliance on smart applications may threaten the privacy of individuals and institutions, particularly with the possibility of data leaks or unethical use.

Opportunities Created by Digital Media

Dr. Ahmed Al-Kandari, a professor of media and public relations at Kuwait University, confirmed that the digital media transformation has allowed everyone the opportunity to own media platforms and communicate directly with the audience, whereas creating traditional media outlets previously required substantial capital. He explained that this transformation has enabled government institutions to communicate directly and effectively with the community, thus contributing to impacting public opinion and engaging with it faster than ever before.

Challenges to News Credibility

Dr. Ali Al-Sharika, a digital media expert, believes that the digital transformation in media has led to a revolution in producing and publishing news; however, he pointed to challenges associated with news credibility and the swift dissemination of inaccurate information. He noted that social media platforms have become a fertile ground for the spread of fake news, making the responsibility of verifying news sources more urgent than ever.

Opportunities for Journalists and Content Creators

Fahd Al-Anzi, a consultant in new media, indicated that digital media has provided unprecedented opportunities for journalists and independent content creators to reach a wide audience without the need for support from traditional media institutions. However, he pointed out that the increase in digital content has made the audience susceptible to media distortion, making it difficult to distinguish between accurate and misleading information amid the vast quantity of available content.

Social Media as a Primary News Source

For his part, social media analyst Bader Al-Mutairi noted that social media platforms have become the primary source of news for a large segment of society, but at the same time, they have led to a decline in the influence of traditional media. He added that the algorithms used on these platforms promote the dissemination of news that receives widespread engagement, regardless of its accuracy; this may create public opinion based on incorrect information.

Privacy and Data Protection Challenges

Maryam Al-Kandari, editor-in-chief of an online newspaper, believes that digital media has contributed to the increased speed of delivering information to the public, but conversely, it has posed challenges related to the protection of privacy and personal data. She explained that media institutions need to develop advanced security policies to protect user data and prevent information leaks, especially in light of the increase in cyber attacks.

Gratitude to Kuwaiti Benefactors

Al-Murshid expressed gratitude and appreciation to the generous benefactors from the State of Kuwait and those residing there for their continued support and solidarity with their brothers in Gaza. He emphasized that it is not surprising for the people of Kuwait—led by their Amir, government, and people—to stand with their brothers in Gaza, as the people of Kuwait are always quick to help those in need in many countries around the world through their charity associations and institutions.

Ongoing Humanitarian Support

He pointed out that the Kuwaiti Charity Association is continuing its humanitarian support efforts for our people in Gaza and standing by them in their hardship, through various forms of assistance representing part of Kuwait's aid to the brothers in Gaza, supervised by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the ongoing efforts since the onset of the crisis to support the affected in the region.

Examples of Assistance Provided

Among the examples of assistance provided by "Keepers" to Gaza since the onset of the crisis are the distribution of 1,000 milk boxes benefiting 249 children, 357 food baskets benefiting 357 families, and 4,400 loaves of bread benefiting 110 individuals, as well as 215 Ramadan baskets and 10,924 Iftar meals during Ramadan benefiting 10,924 individuals. Additionally, 1,054 Iftar meals were distributed on the Day of Arafah, benefiting 1,054 individuals, along with 9 sacrifices benefiting 42 families. "Hofath" also provided 40 tons of medical and food aid in addition to 4 ambulances in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Relief Association.

Continued Support and Prayer for Gaza

We continue to support Gaza and Palestine, and we ask Allah to hasten the relief of their distress, accept their martyrs, and heal their wounded.
