A Lopsided Battle
According to Al-Duwairi, this war is not like your typical army vs. army fight. It is a bit lopsided. On one side, you have the Israeli occupation army with all their fancy equipment and about 16 brigades. On the other side, you have the resistance fighters with limited resources and short-range weapons.
Destroying the Enemy
But don't underestimate the resistance! They have managed to destroy over 1,000 Israeli vehicles since the start of the ground operation. That's a lot of vehicles! The spokesperson for the military wing of Hamas, called the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, said they alone took out 720 vehicles. That's like taking out the vehicles of 3 complete divisions in the Israeli army!
Netanyahu's Determination
Now, let's talk about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He says that Israel won't stop the war until they achieve their goals, which are getting rid of Hamas and releasing prisoners. But Al-Duwairi thinks Netanyahu is just trying to sound tough because the negotiations with Hamas aren't going well. Hamas wants the aggression to stop first.
The Battle for Khan Yunis
During the second phase of the war, the Israeli army tried to enter Khan Yunis, a city in Gaza. However, they faced some challenges. They could not get into the heart of the city and their operations faltered more than once. The fighting is still going strong between both sides, with the Israeli army trying to encircle the city and cut off supply routes for the resistance fighters.
