Gaza is Starving
The Duty of Muslims Towards Their Starving Brethren

Today, we are living through a
difficult and one of the darkest periods in history. Atrocities are openly
committed, and the city of Gaza, full of pride, is under siege in an
existential battle where it defends the first of the two Qiblas (directions of prayer).
It offers its pure blood as the price of dignity and steadfastness, while food
and medicine are denied to it. Its hospitals are bombed in broad daylight, and
doctors and wounded are targeted with no one to help or support them.
Hunger in Gaza has reached an
extreme level, and dozens of innocents have died from its effects, some of them
children who have turned into human skeletons. The issue is no longer just an
aggression; it has become a policy of mass starvation practiced in plain
sight of the world. This is a moral, humanitarian, and legal scandal that
exposes the falsity of Western civilization, the complicity of the
international community, and the complicity of organizations called
"humanitarian," which are as far from humanity as can be.
They said that starving
civilians is a war crime, yet here they are silent on the starvation of
over two million people! They said that the law protects hospitals, yet
hospitals were destroyed with those inside them! They said that human rights
are sacred, yet tanks trampled them, and the media remained silent!
How true were your words, Messenger
of Allah, when you said: "The nations are
about to gather against you as people gather around a dish." A questioner
asked: "Will that be because of our small number on that day?" He
said: "No, you will be numerous on that day, but you will be like the foam
of the torrent. And Allah will remove from the hearts of your enemies the awe
of you, and Allah will cast al-wahn into your hearts." A questioner
asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what is al-wahn?" He said:
"Love of the world and dislike of death." (Narrated by Abu
Dawud).
Duties of Muslims
Towards Gaza
In light of this siege and
starvation, the sincere Muslim asks: What is my duty towards Gaza?
The answer is that the duties are
many and varied, and no one is excused from fulfilling them:
First: Breaking the
Siege and Delivering Food
The Prophet
(peace be upon him) said: "He is not a believer who eats his fill while
his neighbor is hungry beside him." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari). Therefore,
Islamic countries must do everything in their power to deliver food and
medicine, using all political and economic pressure. As for silence about this
crime, it is a crime, and inaction is betrayal.
Second: Media Jihad
It is essential to utilize the media, including
the pages of influencers on social media, to support the Palestinian narrative,
expose the falsehood of the Zionist narrative, and reveal the policy of
starvation everywhere in the world. There are many pages of influencers in Arab
and Islamic countries; it is their duty to clarify the Palestinian suffering,
convey the image of famine with sound and video, and show pictures of children
who have become skeletons due to starvation.
Third: Rationalizing
Spending
Muslims must preserve their wealth
and not waste it, as it belongs to future generations. It is shameful to
display luxury and indulge in various types of food while our people in Gaza
and Sudan are dying of hunger. Allah says: "Indeed, the squanderers are
brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful."
(Surat Al-Isra: 27).
The Prophet (peace be upon him)
said: "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim; he does not oppress him nor
does he hand him over [to the enemy]. Whoever fulfills the needs of his
brother, Allah will fulfill his needs. Whoever relieves a Muslim of a distress,
Allah will relieve him of a distress on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever covers
a Muslim, Allah will cover him on the Day of Resurrection." (Narrated by
Al-Bukhari).
Supporting Palestine and providing
aid and assistance in all areas is a duty for every Muslim man and woman. The
Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded us to support the oppressed. In the noble
Hadith: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded us with seven things...
then he mentioned visiting the sick, following funerals, saying 'Yarhamukallah'
to one who sneezes, returning greetings, supporting the oppressed,
accepting invitations, and fulfilling oaths."
Let Muslims know that the punishment for abandonment is severe and grave
Whoever abandons the hungry in Gaza,
Allah will abandon him. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
"No man abandons a Muslim in a place where his sanctity is violated and
his honor is belittled, but Allah will abandon him in a place where he would
love His help. And no man helps a Muslim in a place where his honor is
belittled and his sanctity is violated, but Allah will help him in a place
where he would love His help."
So, will you be among those who
helped, or among those who abandoned?
