Sde Teiman… a moral scandal shaking the Zionist entity.
The case of former Israeli
Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi has become the
main preoccupation of “Israelis” over the past few days — and it still is.
Virtually every newspaper, website, and Zionist TV channel has given
overwhelming attention to this issue, especially since Netanyahu has described
it as “the most dangerous attack the State of Israel has faced since its
establishment.
Almost overnight, the
Yerushalmi case became the talk of the hour in “Israel,” following her leak of
a secret video from the Sde
Teiman prison. The incident quickly
escalated into a series of urgent and confusing developments: it began with the
sudden resignation of the Israeli Military Advocate General on Friday, followed
by a criminal investigation and her arrest on Monday, and then the rushed
appointment of her replacement just a few days later, on Tuesday.
All of this appears to be an
attempt to deflect attention from Zionist crimes against Palestinian detainees
in Israeli prisons, as well as other similar violations committed against Palestinian
civilians in the West Bank whether by the Israeli army or by Zionist settlers.
Yerushalmi’s leak: Zionist crimes inside the “Sde Teiman”
detention facility
The Yerushalmi case or the leaked video goes back to July of last year, when Israeli
soldiers tortured a Palestinian detainee and sexually assaulted him inside the
Sde Teiman detention facility, causing him severe injuries.
A few days ago, prosecutor
Yerushalmi admitted that she had allowed the video documenting these Zionist
crimes to be leaked an admission reported across all
Hebrew-language media outlets.
Strangely, local, Arab, and
international media outlets circulated the story as soon as it appeared in the
Hebrew press without noting that more than 10,000 Palestinian detainees, including
children and women, are held in “Israeli” prisons, suffering torture,
starvation, and medical neglect.
These same outlets had
previously given extensive attention to the bodies of Zionist captives yet
ignored the bodies of Palestinian detainees returned by “Tel Aviv,” many of
whom were found handcuffed, blindfolded, and bearing clear signs of torture and
even being run over by tanks.
On
the other hand, it was expected that the Chief of Staff of the Zionist army,
General Eyal Zamir, would pursue the Military Advocate General and hold
an urgent meeting with her last Friday morning. She emerged from that meeting
announcing her immediate resignation. At the same time, Yoav Katz, the Minister
of War, announced that she had been dismissed
not that she had resigned.
Within
just a few hours, the case of Yifat Yerushalmi became the hottest topic in
“Israel,” according to the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth on 31
October 2025.
A fierce campaign against Yerushalmi as
authorities search for her phone
However,
Netanyahu acknowledged at the opening of the weekly government session on
Sunday, 2 November, that the leak by Military Advocate General
Yerushalmi of a video documenting soldiers assaulting a Palestinian detainee in
the notorious Sde Teiman facility may be “the most dangerous propaganda attack
the State of ‘Israel’ has faced since its establishment.”
He
added: “I don’t recall anything so concentrated and powerful. This requires
an independent, non-affiliated investigation — and I expect that to happen.”
Despite
her admission of leaking the video and submitting her resignation on Friday, 31
October, Defense Minister Katz launched a fierce campaign against the Military
Advocate General. This included stripping her of her military rank and
dismissing her from office, despite her written resignation, as reported by
Hebrew Channel 13 on 1 November.
A few
days later, the same minister ordered her arrest, and went further by demanding
a search for her and her mobile phone, claiming it contained crucial evidence
that could aid the interrogation, amid the serious suspicions surrounding
Yerushalmi.
Hebrew
Channel 12 revealed on Tuesday, 4 November, that dozens of divers and
volunteers from other naval units are continuing the search along Herzliya
beach for the former Military Advocate General’s missing phone. Yerushalmi had
reported that her personal phone had fallen in that area, and sources cited by
the channel suggested that this may be an attempt to conceal material
incriminating the Military Advocate General, and possibly others as well.
Hebrew
Channel 13 did not limit itself to ordinary coverage of the event; it confirmed
that the military investigation into the leaked video of Palestinian detainee
torture will involve many other officials, including the deputy police
commander. Yet, Yerushalmi bore the brunt of the accusations.
Meanwhile,
Gideon Levy wrote in an article for the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz on 2
November that her desperate defense of the so-called morality of the Israeli
army did not absolve her attempt to improve the army’s image in her own way. He
stated: “Yerushalmi legitimized the crimes of Israeli soldiers, and at the
first stumble, this monster (the army itself) will hold you accountable — and
it did.”
Immediately
after the announcement of Yerushalmi’s dismissal from her post, or her
resignation as Israel’s Military Advocate General, a great deal of controversy
ensued. Her resignation sparked anger within political and media circles,
particularly because she was accused of contributing to the exposure of crimes
committed by Zionist soldiers against Palestinian detainees.
These
circles went as far as stigmatizing Yerushalmi, claiming that she had committed
a crime against the “Israelis” and their army.

These
circles went as far as stigmatizing Yerushalmi, claiming that she had committed
a crime against the “Israelis” and their army.
Angry
reactions quickly followed, both from Yerushalmi herself and from those
supporting her detention and prosecution. Some Zionist Knesset members and
media figures went as far as demanding the immediate revocation of her military
rank and the stripping of all her rights, even before the Israeli army
officially announced the decision.
They
claimed that Yerushalmi had damaged the good reputation of the State of Israel,
arguing that anyone who tarnishes the image of Israeli soldiers worldwide must
be expelled in disgrace from both military and civilian spheres, according to
their statements.
Some,
like former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, considered Yerushalmi’s exposure of
the Israeli army a very serious incident that could undermine Israelis’ trust
in senior military leaders, while another Israeli parliamentarian labeled her a
criminal, in his words.
It is
clear that statements by Yoav Katz and
the judge, describing the case as serious and claiming it caused a blatant
humiliation of Israeli soldiers worldwide, were widely echoed. According to
them, anyone who spreads “bloody fabrications” about Israeli soldiers does not
deserve to wear the military uniform.
This
remark was later repeated by numerous political figures, former military
commanders, and media personalities, spreading like wildfire, as if the
Zionists had found in the Military Advocate General a target for punishment,
while turning a blind eye to the ongoing brutal crimes against Palestinian
detainees in Israeli prisons.
Thus,
with the swift appointment of Itay Ofer to replace Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi as
Military Advocate General on Tuesday, 4 February, according to the Israeli
Broadcasting Authority, Katz stated that Ofer must not take any initiative that
distorts the image of soldiers, harms their dignity, or exposes them to
prosecution worldwide.
From
this, it is evident that the Israeli military establishment was shaken simply
by the release of a video revealing the reality of the Zionist entity. Despite
Yerushalmi’s long contribution to enhancing the army’s image—spanning over a
quarter of a century in her military legal role—she faced a series of
accusations, including fraud, breach of trust, abuse of her military position,
and obstruction of justice.
These
charges prompted the Defense Minister to place her under preventive detention
to allow the investigation into the case to continue.
Yerushalmi
represents a cornerstone figure in the current period, particularly as she
exposed the fragility and vulnerability of the Zionist military establishment
and highlighted the clear divide between the political and military
institutions.
It
seems she will remain a pawn in the hands of these institutions for some time,
and this current case goes far beyond the mere issue of leaking a video showing
the torture of a Palestinian detainee.
