Khairat Implements Relief and Development Projects in Chad Benefiting Nearly 30,000 People
In line with its humanitarian efforts aimed at
alleviating the suffering of the most vulnerable groups and enhancing the
foundations of a dignified life, Khairat Association for Relief and Development executed a package of relief, health, and development projects
in the Republic of Chad as part of the "Ambassador 2" trip. These
efforts delivered humanitarian assistance and services to 29,723 beneficiaries
through projects spanning food security, water supply, healthcare, livelihood support, and the empowerment of productive families.
The trip came as a continuation of the association's efforts
to combine responding to urgent humanitarian needs with implementing
development projects that contribute to improving the living conditions of the
most needy families and boosting their capacity to face economic and social
challenges.
In this context, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Kharraz, Director General
of Khairat Association for Relief and Development, confirmed that Kuwaiti humanitarian work derives its strength from the values of solidarity and
compassion deeply rooted in society. He pointed out that the projects
implemented in Chad reflect the association's eagerness to deliver the donors'
generosity to its rightful recipients and achieve a tangible impact on their
lives.
Al-Kharraz: Seeking to Transform Donors' Giving into Dignity-Preserving Projects
Al-Kharraz stated: "The true value of charitable work is
not measured solely by the volume of aid provided, but by the change it creates
in human lives. When we provide water to a family, contribute to treating a
patient, or grant a needy person a means of earning a living, we are not
delivering temporary aid; rather, we are opening a door of hope and easing a
portion of human suffering."
Food Security: Assisting Families Facing Living Expenses
Providing food formed one of the primary pillars of the
executed projects. The association distributed 1,090 food baskets
benefiting 1,090 families (comprising approximately 7,630 individuals),
contributing to easing daily living burdens and assisting families in securing
their basic nutritional needs.
The association also established 5 feeding kitchens that
benefited 5,000 people, alongside executing 9 Aqiqah projects benefiting 630
individuals, as part of its initiatives aimed at reinforcing food security and
expanding the scope of benefit from charitable projects.
Water and Healthcare: Projects Touching Human Lives
In the water sector, the association drilled 2 artesian wells
serving nearly 1,700 families (totaling 11,900 individuals), in a step that
contributes to improving water access and reducing the daily burdens
associated with securing it.
In the health field, the association conducted 100 eye
surgeries benefiting 100 patients, aiming to provide necessary medical care
to those in need and alleviate the suffering linked to vision problems.
The importance of these interventions lies in their direct
connection to human health, stability, and the ability to practice daily life,
particularly in communities facing challenges in accessing basic services.
Economic Empowerment: Sustainable Impact for the Future
The trip's projects were not limited to direct relief; they
also included productive initiatives aimed at helping families improve their
income and rely on their self-capacities.
In this framework, the association provided 84 sewing machines
benefiting 84 families (comprising 588 individuals), offering opportunities for
work, production, and the utilization of vocational skills to generate an
income source.
It also provided 5 milch cows benefiting 5 extended families
(totaling 175 individuals) in a project aimed at supporting livelihoods and
providing a productive resource that can contribute to improving the economic
and nutritional conditions of beneficiary families.
Regarding the significance of these projects, Al-Kharraz
explained that economic empowerment represents a fundamental pillar in
development-oriented charitable work, saying: "We believe that one of the
greatest forms of giving is helping a person secure their own livelihood,
transitioning them from continuous need to productive capacity. A sewing
machine or a milch cow may seem like a simple project, but for a family in
need, it can represent the beginning of a path toward stability and
self-sufficiency—this is the impact we are keen to promote in our development
projects."
Improving Living Conditions and Supporting Education
As part of the projects targeted at improving living
conditions, the association provided and furnished 500 floor mats benefiting
500 families (totaling 3,500 individuals), contributing to basic daily
essentials needed by families.
On the educational and religious front, the association
distributed 200 copies of the Holy Quran benefiting 200 students,
supporting Quranic education and facilitating access to copies of the
Scripture.
Kuwaiti Philanthropy: Humanitarian Impact Beyond Borders
The total number of beneficiaries from the projects executed
during the trip reached 29,723 people, reflecting a diverse range of
humanitarian interventions across relief, health, water, education, and
economic empowerment.
Al-Kharraz praised the role played by benefactors and donors
in Kuwait in supporting these efforts, stressing that the achieved projects
came by the grace of Allah and then through the contributions of philanthropic
people and their trust in Kuwaiti charitable work.
He said: "The impact we see from these projects is the
fruit of the giving of the people of Kuwait, who are accustomed to aiding the
needy wherever they are. Every family that receives food, every patient who
finds a way to treatment, and every home that benefits from water is a
testament that the good provided by a donor crosses borders and distances to
make a real difference in the lives of others."
He added: "We ask Allah Almighty to accept the charity of
all benefactors, bless their wealth and families, place their contributions on
the scale of their good deeds, and perpetually grant Kuwait and its people the
blessings of security, safety, and generosity."
The "Ambassador 2" journey exemplifies a model of humanitarian work that combines meeting urgent needs with establishing long-term stability, extending the mission of Khairat Association for Relief and Development and the broader efforts of Kuwaiti charitable institutions to alleviate human suffering and foster values of solidarity among peoples.
