Kuwait: UN-Recognized and Appreciated Humanitarian Leader

On World Humanitarian Day, we celebrate not only the great efforts of humanitarian workers everywhere, but also the great responsibility we all share to support these heroes who never stop giving, even in the most difficult circumstances. Today is a day of gratitude and appreciation for everyone who contributes to alleviating the suffering of others and makes humanity a continuous mission and path.

Kuwait: A Global Center for Humanitarian Action

On this day, Kuwait remains one of the most prominent countries leading global humanitarian action. For decades, and under the guidance of our wise leadership, Kuwait has become internationally known for its strong and continuous approach to supporting individuals and peoples in need. Thanks to Kuwait's deep and continuous commitment to humanitarian work, we have been able to be the first to answer the call in humanitarian crises around the world by supporting countries affected by wars, natural disasters, and other crises.

The United Nations has affirmed this leading role, naming Kuwait a "Center for Humanitarian Action" and considering it a "leader in the field of humanitarian work." This success is not only due to the political leadership but also to the efforts of Kuwaiti charitable societies and volunteer humanitarian teams that work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of humanity in various parts of the world.

Statistics Highlight Kuwait's Efforts

Recent reports have confirmed that Kuwait provided more than $30 million in humanitarian aid last year, reaching over 50 countries around the world and benefiting more than 10 million people. This achievement represents a vivid picture of Kuwait's deep commitment and strategic direction toward helping those in need, regardless of their religion or race.

Developing Mechanisms for Humanitarian Work Amid Increasing Challenges

World Humanitarian Day comes at a time when humanitarian crises are growing in complexity around the world. With the escalation of armed conflicts, the increasing number of refugees and displaced persons, and the effects of climate change that have caused many natural disasters, the need to develop humanitarian action mechanisms has become more urgent than ever.

Kuwait therefore emphasizes the importance of strengthening international partnerships in this field. Through cooperation among governmental and non-governmental bodies and the private sector, we can improve humanitarian relief strategies and ensure that aid reaches the largest possible number of people who need it quickly and effectively.

A Message of Thanks and Gratitude to Humanitarian Workers

Today, I address my message to every individual working in the field of humanitarian action, whether directly in the field or through administrative and organizational support. You are the ones who put humanity above all else and sacrifice for the well-being of others. From relief teams to volunteers, you are all ambassadors of mercy, and the Kuwaiti leadership values your efforts and pledges to continue supporting you and enhancing your efforts in the future.

Kuwait appreciates the hard work you do to assist individuals and families who have lost everything. You are the hope for those in need, and we are committed to continuing to support you so that Kuwait, by the grace of God and thanks to your efforts, remains a humanitarian beacon that lights the paths of the needy around the world.

Kuwait’s Leadership in Humanitarian Action

Kuwait, which is considered one of the leading countries in charitable and humanitarian work, will always be at the heart of major humanitarian events. Today, with the increasing challenges in our contemporary world, we confirm the importance of updating our tools and techniques in humanitarian work to ensure a quick and effective response to crises that may occur in the future. By strengthening partnerships, developing strategies, and achieving good governance, we will continue to spread our deep humanitarian message everywhere.
